Need help getting Spanish-speaking customer service. Any tips?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get through to customer service but I don't speak English very well. Does anyone know if there's a way to get help in Spanish? I really need to talk to someone about my account but I'm worried about miscommunication. Any advice?

I found a way to solve Spanish customer service issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXL9xaOoyZU

I've been in the same boat! It can be so frustrating trying to navigate customer service in a language you're not comfortable with. Have you tried looking for a Spanish language option on their website? Sometimes there's a little flag icon or language selector you can use.

Thanks for the suggestion! I looked but couldn't find anything like that on there website. Maybe I'm just missing it? 🤔

Pro tip: try saying 'español' or 'agente en español' as soon as the automated system picks up. A lot of times that'll route you to a Spanish-speaking rep!

Ohh that's smart, I'll definitely try that next time. Gracias! 💯

Ugh, it's ridiculous that they don't have better language options in 2023. This country is so behind on accessibility sometimes 🙄

I found a method to get someone on the phone who speaks Spanish. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Wow, that sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? How long did you have to wait?

It actually does work! I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. I only waited about 10 minutes after they connected me. Way better than the hours I spent before.

$20 seems steep just to talk to customer service. Shouldn't this be free?

I get it, but for me, it was worth it to save hours of frustration. Plus, I got to speak to someone in Spanish right away.

Have you tried using Google Translate while on the phone? It's not perfect, but it might help you get your point across if you're really stuck.

That's a good idea! I hadn't thought of that. Might be a little awkward but better than nothing lol

This is why we need better language accessibility laws. It's not just about convenience, it's about equal access to services. Maybe we should start a petition or something?

I'm down for that! Where do we start?

We could use one of those online petition sites to get started. I'll look into it and post a link here if I find a good platform.

Hey OP, if you're still stuck, DM me. I'm bilingual and might be able to help you out or at least practice what you want to say in English.

Wow, that's so kind of you! I might take you up on that offer if I can't figure this out. Muchas gracias! ❤️

Another option is to look for a local community organization or library that offers translation services or has bilingual volunteers who can help you make the call. Many cities have immigrant resource centers that provide this kind of assistance for free. You could also try calling during off-peak hours (early morning or late evening) when wait times might be shorter and you have more patience to work through any language barriers. ¡Buena suerte!

This is really helpful advice! I didn't know about immigrant resource centers offering translation help. Do you happen to know how to find these in my area? I'm in the Bay Area if that helps. The off-peak hours tip is great too - I've been calling during lunch breaks but that's probably when everyone else is calling too 😅
