Need help getting 2021 & 2022 W2s from IRS - any tips to reach a real person?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble getting my W2s for 2021 and 2022. I've been trying to reach someone at the IRS but no luck so far. Has anyone else had this issue? Any tips on how to get through to a real person? I'm starting to get worried about filing my taxes.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get my W2s for weeks now. The IRS phone system is a nightmare 🤮

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DDIs54YyKAw

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

•How long did it take for them to actually connect you?

•It took about 45 minutes, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was on the line.

Have you tried requesting your W2s online through the IRS website? Sometimes that's faster than calling.

Here's what I've learned about getting W2s from the IRS: 1. Try the online system first. Go to irs.gov and look for the 'Get Transcript' option. 2. If that doesn't work, call early in the morning (right when they open) or late in the day. 3. Be prepared with your social security number, past address, and any other identifying info they might need. 4. If you can't get through, consider using a paid service like the one mentioned above. It might be worth it to save time and frustration. 5. As a last resort, you can estimate your W2 info based on your last pay stub of the year. Just make sure to file an amended return if the actual numbers are different. Hope this helps! Good luck everyone 💯

Has anyone tried contacting their employer directly for the W2s? Sometimes that's easier than dealing with the IRS.

•I actually tried that first, but my old employer isn't being very helpful. That's why I'm trying the IRS route now.
