IRS Refund Nightmare: Tips for Actually Talking to a Human?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to get a refund from the IRS but I'm having trouble getting through to them. Has anyone else had this problem? Any tips on how to actually talk to a human being there? I've been trying for weeks and it's driving me crazy!

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's what worked for me: 1. Call early in the morning 2. Use the Spanish option (even if you don't speak Spanish) 3. When you get a person, politely ask to be transferred to English-speaking support 4. Be super nice to everyone you talk to It took a few tries, but I finally got through this way. Good luck!
