I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Jc9x-gysK0

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call early in the morning, right when they open. 2. Have all your info ready (SSN, tax return, any notices you've received). 3. Be polite but persistent. Sometimes you gotta ask to speak to a supervisor. 4. If all else fails, contact your local Taxpayer Advocate Service. They can sometimes help push things along. Hope this helps!
