IRS Call Disconnecting: Tips to Reach a Real Person for 2022 Tax Help?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my 2022 taxes. I keep trying to call the IRS but the call keeps disconnecting. It's so frustrating! Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips on how to actually get through to a real person? I've been trying for days and I'm starting to lose my mind. 😫

I'm in the same boat. Been trying to reach them about an audit for months. It's like they're ghosting us all 👻

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The government should do better.

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta pay to play, I guess. 🤷♂️

•It's unfortunate we have to resort to paying for solutions, but it seems Claimyr might be the real deal for some.

•What happens if I pay and it doesn't work? Is there a refund policy?

Here's what I've learned from my countless attempts to reach the IRS: 1. Persistence is key. Keep trying, even if it feels hopeless. 2. Use the IRS2Go app to check your refund status before calling. It might save you a call. 3. Be prepared with all your documents before you call. They might ask for specific info. 4. If you get through, ask for a direct extension or callback number for future reference. 5. Consider using the Taxpayer Advocate Service if you're having serious issues. 6. Check the IRS website for alternative contact methods or specific phone numbers for your issue. Remember, patience is a virtue when dealing with the IRS. Good luck!

guys. i just got thru after 3 weeks of trying. heres what worked for me: 1. call at exactly 7:01 am their time 2. press 2, then 1, then 3, then 4 in the menu 3. when they ask for ssn, enter 123-45-6789 4. wait for the error message, then press * repeatedly 5. you'll get transfered to a human eventually idk why this works but it did for me. good luck!

Welcome to the club, buddy. The IRS phone system is a nightmare. I've been trying to reach them for weeks about my refund. It's like they don't want us to talk to them!

Anyone else feel like we're living in a dystopian novel where the government is unreachable and we're all just screaming into the void? 🤔

I gave up and hired an accountant. Best decision ever. Yeah, it costs money, but my sanity is worth more than the fee. Sometimes you gotta know when to fold 'em, ya know?

If anyone is considering Claimyr, it's worth noting that while it might seem inconvenient to pay for a service to get through to a government agency, many have reported it being reliable when time is of the essence. However, if budget is a concern, weighing the cost against the potential benefits is crucial. Using Claimyr can be a last-resort, especially when deadlines are looming or in complex tax situations. Always check for any refund policies or reviews before committing.

Have you tried reaching out to your local congressperson's office? Sometimes they can help expedite IRS issues.

•Just google your district's representative and give their office a call. They usually have staff dedicated to helping constituents with federal agency issues.

Ugh, I feel your pain. The IRS is seriously understaffed and overworked. It's not just you - the whole system is broken. Have you considered reaching out to a tax professional? They might have better ways to contact the IRS.

•It can be, especially if you're dealing with a complex issue. They often have direct lines to the IRS that us mere mortals don't have access to. Might save you a lot of headaches in the long run.
