Need help getting IRS tax transcripts (2019-2024) - Can't reach a live agent!
Hey everyone, I'm having a really frustrating time trying to get my tax transcripts from the IRS. I need the last 6 years (2019-2024) but I can't seem to get through to a live person. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to actually reach someone? I've been trying for days and I'm at my wits end. Any advice would be appreciated!

Ugh, welcome to the club. 🙄 I've been trying to get my transcripts for months now. The IRS phone system is a nightmare. Have you tried calling right when they open? Sometimes that works for me.

•I second this! Early morning calls are the way to go. Set ur alarm for like 5 minutes before they open and start dialing.

Pro tip: use the IRS website to request your transcripts online. It's way easier than calling and you can usually get them within a few days. Here's the link: [IRS Get Transcript Online]

•This! 💯 The online system is a lifesaver. Just make sure you have all your info ready when you start the process.

•I tried that already but it keeps giving me an error. Says something about my info not matching their records 😫

•Ah, that sucks. Yeah, if your info doesn't match exactly, it can be a pain. Might have to bite the bullet and keep trying to call then.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

•20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda sketchy. How do you know it's legit?

•I get the skepticism, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Here's a detailed guide on how to get your tax transcripts: 1. Try the online system first at irs.gov/transcripts 2. If that fails, call 800-908-9946 (automated system) 3. For a live person, call 844-545-5640 4. Best times to call are early morning or just before closing 5. Have your SSN, DOB, and mailing address ready 6. Be patient and polite with the agents 7. If all else fails, visit a local IRS office Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

I feel your pain, OP. The IRS is so understaffed and underfunded, it's ridiculous. We need to pressure our representatives to give them more resources so we don't have to deal with this bs.

•Preach! 🙌 The whole system needs an overhaul. It's 2023, why are we still dealing with this?

Quick question - why do you need transcripts from 2024? That tax year hasn't even happened yet. Did you mean 2014-2019 maybe?

•Oops, good catch! Yeah, I meant 2019-2023. My bad 😅
