Missing EDD certification form after 2 weeks - Will payment automatically load to my card?
I'm really confused about my certification schedule right now. I certified for benefits two weeks ago and got paid the next day on my Money Network card. Now it's been exactly 2 weeks since then, and I should be getting my next UI payment, but I haven't received any form to fill out or any notification in my UI Online account. I checked my inbox and there's nothing there. Is this normal? Do they sometimes skip sending certification forms? Will my payment still automatically go onto my card without me certifying? I'm worried because rent is due next week and I was counting on this payment.

EDD won't send your payment automatically without certification. You need to log into UI Online and check your certification weeks. The system doesn't 'send' you forms anymore - you have to actively certify every two weeks. Go to UI Online, click on 'Certify for Benefits' and see if there are weeks available. If not, your claim might have an issue that needs addressing.

•Thanks for the quick reply! I feel stupid now... I've been waiting for an email notification like I got the first time. Just checked UI Online and the certification weeks ARE available, they just didn't notify me. Going to certify right now!

Check the certification date on your UI Online homepage. Not everyone certifies on the same schedule. Some people certify on odd weeks and others on even weeks. The system doesn't always send notifications consistently. I've been on unemployment three times and learned you have to be proactive about checking your UI Online account regularly. Set a reminder on your phone for every two weeks!

•That's a good idea about setting a reminder! I just certified and it says payment is pending. Do you know how long it usually takes to move from pending to paid?

•If everything goes smoothly, it should switch from pending to paid within 24-48 hours. Then it takes another day or so to hit your Money Network card. If it stays pending for more than 3 days, that could indicate there's an issue with your certification that needs review.

EDD IS THE WORST with notifications!! I've been on unemployment since February and I NEVER get emails when it's time to certify. I missed certifying THREE TIMES because of this and had to call them to backdate my certifications. Their system is absolutely broken and they don't care how much stress it causes people who are already dealing with job loss!!!!

•It's frustrating but true - the notification system is inconsistent. If you need to reach EDD because you missed certifications, try Claimyr.com - it helped me get through to a representative in about 20 minutes when I had this exact problem. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km - saved me hours of redial frustration.

Quick tip: Check your spam folder too. Sometimes EDD emails end up there. But regardless, you should always certify every two weeks on your regular schedule, typically Sunday. Your certification date should be visible on your UI Online homepage. After you certify, payments usually process within 24-48 hours if there are no issues with your claim.

•Just certified and already switched to paid status! So relieved. I'm definitely going to be more proactive about tracking my certification dates from now on.

Glad you got it sorted out! This is such a common issue with EDD - their notification system is unreliable at best. For anyone else reading this, I'd recommend setting up a calendar reminder every two weeks on your certification day. Also, if you're using the EDD mobile app, it sometimes shows certification weeks available even when the website doesn't send notifications. The key is being proactive rather than waiting for EDD to tell you when it's time to certify.
