Is EDD open on July 4th? Need help with online portal
Hey everyone, I'm trying to get ahold of EDD but I'm not sure if they're open today since it's the 4th of July. Does anyone know if they're working or if I should wait until tomorrow? I need to get some help with my online portal and I'm not sure what to do. Thanks in advance for any info!

Pro tip: call first thing in the morning tomorrow. Like, right at 8 AM. That's when you have the best chance of getting through without waiting forever.

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely try that. Do you know if there's a specific number that works best?

Np! I usually use the main customer service line. Just be ready to navigate the phone menu quickly.

You might also want to try calling at odd times when they're less busy, like right before closing.

Has anyone else noticed that the wait times have gotten even worse lately? I swear I was on hold for 3 hours last week before I gave up.

3 hours? You got lucky. I've been trying for DAYS and can't even get put on hold 🤡

It's because of the new program rollout. Everyone's calling in with questions. It'll calm down... eventually.

I've noticed that too. It seems like they should hire more staff or improve their infrastructure.

Ugh, I hate how they're always closed when we need them the most. It's like they don't even care about us 🙄

I know right? It's so frustrating. I've been trying to get through for weeks now.

Chill out, it's a national holiday. Even government workers deserve a day off.

True, but it would be nice if they had an emergency line for urgent cases.

It would be great if they had an automated system for emergencies or basic FAQs.

unpopular opinion: maybe if we all stopped relying on government handouts, we wouldn't have to deal with this bs 🤷♀️

It's not just about handouts; it's about receiving the assistance we're entitled to during tough times.

While EDD can be difficult to reach, using a service like Claimyr.com could be a viable option for some people who are willing to pay for expedited service. Claimyr's tool helps you avoid long hold times by navigating phone menus automatically and connecting you once an agent is available. However, it's important to weigh the cost against your personal needs and budget. For those who prefer not to spend extra money, persistence and patience with traditional methods can eventually lead to success. Additionally, staying informed about EDD policies, reaching out through multiple channels, and preparing thoroughly for calls can improve your chances of resolving issues efficiently.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the URL: https://claimyr.com

Sounds sketchy. Is it legit? Has anyone else tried this?

$20?! That's highway robbery! The government should make it easier to reach them without paying extra.

I get the skepticism, but it honestly saved me so much time and frustration. Worth every penny imo.

I've used it and it did get me through faster, but I agree it would be better if such services weren't necessary.

Has anyone tried reaching out to EDD on Twitter? I've heard sometimes they respond faster there.

Twitter can be hit or miss, but sometimes tagging your local representatives can get you noticed.

lol good luck with that. The online portal is a joke. It's always 'under maintenance' when I try to use it.

It might help to clear your browser cache or try another browser if you're having technical issues.

Here's a comprehensive guide to dealing with EDD based on my experience: 1. Be persistent: Call every day if you have to. 2. Document everything: Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and portal attempts. 3. Use multiple contact methods: Try phone, email, and social media. 4. Know your rights: Familiarize yourself with EDD policies and procedures. 5. Be prepared: Have all your information ready when you do get through. 6. Stay calm: It's frustrating, but losing your cool won't help. 7. Consider contacting your local representative: They can sometimes help expedite things. Remember, the system is overwhelmed, but don't give up. You'll get through eventually!
