EDD not answering - need to update info before they close! Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with EDD. I called them to update some information, but I'm not getting through. They close in an hour and I'm worried I'll miss my chance. Has anyone had luck getting through to them lately? Any tips on the best time to call or how to get someone on the line?

I found a way to solve EDD phone call difficulties, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNdOAuV5ftI

Ugh, EDD is the worst! I've been trying to get through for weeks. It's like they don't want us to actually talk to anyone. Good luck, hope you have better luck than me!

Yeah, I've tried everything. Early morning, late afternoon, even tried different days of the week. No luck so far šŸ˜«

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20? That's ridiculous. EDD should make it easier to contact them without having to pay extra šŸ™„

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate enough to try anything. It's not ideal to pay, but it saved me so much time and stress.

How long did you have to wait after using the service?

It took about 2 hours total, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They called me when an agent was on the line.

Pro tip: if you cant get through on the main line, try calling one of their auxiliary numbers and ask to be transferred. Sometimes works for me!

I feel your pain, OP. The EDD system is so broken. I've been dealing with them for months and it's been a nightmare. Hang in there!

Thanks for the support. It's frustrating but good to know I'm not alone in this struggle.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for way too long: ā€¢ Best times to call are usually Tuesday-Thursday, either right when they open or about an hour before closing ā€¢ Use the prompts for a new claim even if you're not filing one - sometimes gets you to a person faster ā€¢ Be persistent! It might take 20+ calls to get through ā€¢ Have all your info ready when you do get someone ā€¢ Ask for a callback number or direct extension if possible ā€¢ If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes intervene Hope this helps someone! It's a frustrating process but don't give up.

Great advice! I'd add: keep a log of all your calls and who you talk to. It helps if you need to escalate later.

I didn't even know they had an email option. Do you have the address?

Sorry, my bad. I was thinking of a different agency. EDD doesn't have a public email for claims issues šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

Anybody else think its crazy that in 2023 we still have to deal with this? Like, haven't they heard of chatbots or online systems? smh

I work in a call center (not EDD) and I can tell you that the end of the day is usually the worst time to call. Everyone panics and tries to get through before closing. Try early morning if you can!
