I got a letter in the mail from about a identity verification. Did anyone else get it too? How long does that usually take to process? And will they pay me the days they missed?

Yes, if you have an claim everyone is getting a letter or mail from to verify there identy through or through the mail sending out and ID & address verification. It can take about 2-3 weeks to get verified & you should be getting back payed. $5 discount for first time callers using Claimyr https://join.claimyr.com/be256b

•Yes you can. Just to make sure have you gone through your emails and see if maybe sent it to you already, even spam! If not, here is the link where you can verify yourself through ID.me. https://hosted-pages.id.me/california-edd-sdi-claimants

•Says as we verify your medical provider. But when I call my doctor they state they haven’t received anything from to verify. Frustrating

•Hi Lynsi, at first it started off with medical providers and now they are having verify as well. I suggest calling and letting them know your doctor hasn’t received anything.

•Please let me know what they say. My husband still needs to verify through and I haven’t even called his medical provider to see what’s going on, on their end.

I received the same identity letter about 3 weeks ago. I ended up doing both - sent the by mail AND verified online through to speed things up. The online through was pretty straightforward and took about 15 minutes. I got confirmed within 24 hours online, but I'm still waiting for my payments to resume. From what I've read in other threads, most people are seeing their payments restored within 1-2 weeks after successful verification, and yes, they do backpay for the missed days during the period. Definitely check your email (including folder) first to see if they sent you the link directly.

•Thanks for sharing your experience Victoria! That's really helpful to know that doing both methods (mail and online) is an option. I'm curious - when you did the online, did you need any specific that weren't mentioned in the original mail letter? I want to make sure I have everything ready before I start the process. Also, did send you any confirmation that they received your online verification, or did you just have to wait and see if payments resumed?

•@Seraphina Delan For the verification, I used my driver s'license and a recent utility bill - basically the same they requested in the mail letter. The online process was actually easier because it walks you through each step. After completing ID.me, I got an immediate confirmation from itself, but didn t'send a separate confirmation. I only knew it worked when I checked my account a few days later and saw the hold was lifted. The tricky part is that even after verification, it still took about another week for payments to actually start flowing again. Hope this helps!

I'm going through this same situation right now! Got my identity letter about 2 weeks ago and I'm still waiting to hear back. Based on what everyone is saying here, it sounds like doing both the mail AND the online process might be the way to go to speed things up. @Victoria Stark - thanks for mentioning that they do backpay for the missed days, that was one of my biggest concerns. Did you notice any specific status changes in your portal that let you know the was being processed, or did payments just randomly start up again? I'm definitely going to check my folder for any links and try the online too. This whole process is so stressful when you're depending on these payments!

•@Victoria Brown I totally understand the stress! I m'dealing with the same process right now. From what I ve'been reading in other groups, it seems like the online route is definitely faster than waiting for mail processing. One thing that helped me was setting up notifications in my account so I d'get alerts for any status changes. Also, make sure to save screenshots of your confirmation once you complete it - some people have had to prove they did the when calling later. Hang in there, it sounds like most people do eventually get their backpay once everything goes through!

I went through this exact same process about a month ago! Got the identity letter and was panicking about how long it would take. I ended up doing the online which took maybe 20 minutes total - just needed my driver's license and a utility bill. The was approved within 48 hours and my payments resumed about a week after that. They did backpay me for all the days I missed during the period, so don't worry about losing those payments. One tip: if you decide to do the online verification, make sure to do it from a computer rather than your phone if possible - the document scanning works better. Also keep checking your portal because sometimes the status updates before they send you any notification emails. The whole thing was way less scary than I thought it would be once I actually started the process!

•@Isabella Oliveira Thanks so much for sharing your experience! This is really reassuring to hear that the whole process went smoothly for you and you got your backpay. I m'curious - when you say your payments resumed about a week after the was approved, did you have to do anything else on your end like certify for benefits again, or did they just automatically start processing? I m'wondering if I need to keep an eye out for any additional steps once my goes through. Also, did you end up sending the mail too, or did you just stick with the online route?

I'm currently going through this identity process too! Just got my letter last week and I've been reading through everyone's experiences here - this is so helpful. It sounds like the consensus is that doing both the mail AND the online process is the best approach to speed things up. I'm planning to start with the this weekend since it seems like that's giving people faster results. Really relieved to hear from multiple people that they do backpay for the missed days - that was my biggest worry since I can't afford to lose any payments right now. Has anyone had issues with the not working properly, or does it usually go smoothly? I want to make sure I'm prepared before I start the process. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, it makes this whole situation feel way less overwhelming!

•@Aisha Khan I just went through the process yesterday and it was actually pretty smooth! The whole thing took about 15 minutes. Just make sure you have good lighting when taking photos of your and keep your driver s'license or ID handy. One small hiccup I had was that it initially couldn t'verify my address, but I just uploaded a recent bank statement instead of a utility bill and that worked. The system is pretty user-friendly and walks you through each step. I m'still waiting to see when my payments resume, but getting the confirmation gave me some peace of mind. Definitely recommend doing it sooner rather than later - seems like most people here had success with the online route!
