How to check on EDD benefit payments? Need help calculating amounts and timeframes
Hey everyone, I'm trying to check on my benefit payments but I'm not sure where to start. Has anyone gone through this process recently? I'm wondering if I should try to calculate the expected amounts or if there's a way to see when payments are scheduled. Any advice would be really appreciated!

I've been there! The best thing to do is log into your account on the unemployment website. There should be a section that shows your payment history and upcoming payments. It's usually pretty up to date.

•This! 👆 The website is actually pretty helpful once you figure out where everything is. Took me a while to learn the ropes tho lol

•True, the website can be hit or miss. Calling is good too if you can get through!

Ugh, good luck. I've been trying to check on my payments for weeks and keep getting the runaround. The system is so broken 🤦♂️

If you're having trouble getting through on the phone, I found a way that actually works! There's this site called claimyr.com that has a calling tool. It dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it saved me hours of frustration. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/0UZGuPWGErg

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Totally worth it after spending days trying to get through.

•Can confirm, I used it last month when I was desperate. Got through in like an hour instead of days of calling.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with this for months: 1. Always check your online account first. It's usually the most up-to-date. 2. If you need to call, try early in the morning or late afternoon. Avoid Mondays if possible. 3. Keep a record of all your payments and claims. It helps if there are discrepancies. 4. If you're expecting a specific payment, there's usually a processing time of 2-3 business days. 5. Don't forget about taxes! You can choose to have them withheld now or pay later. 6. If something looks off, don't wait. Contact them ASAP. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

•Wow, thank you so much for this detailed info! This is super helpful. I'll definitely start with the online account and go from there.

•This should be pinned at the top of the sub tbh. So many people asking the same questions over and over.

•It's designed to be difficult on purpose. They hope people will give up and not claim what they're owed.

Has anyone else noticed that the payment amounts sometimes vary? Like, I'll get one amount one week and a different amount the next, even though nothing changed on my end. Is that normal?

•Yeah, that happened to me too. Turns out it was because of partial wages from a part-time gig I picked up. Make sure you're reporting any income accurately!

•Could also be taxes. If you didn't opt for withholding, they might take it out randomly. Ask me how I know 😅
