How long to receive new EDD Money Network card after old one expired?
Just got approved for a new unemployment claim and certified for benefits this morning (yay!). But I realized my old EDD Money Network card expired last month. I called the customer service number on the back of my old card yesterday to request a new one, but the rep couldn't tell me exactly when it would arrive. My rent is due in 10 days and I'm getting anxious! For those who've had to order a replacement card recently, how long did it take to arrive? Should I be worried about my payment being delayed even though I certified already?

•Thanks for the info! So basically 2 weeks total. Did your payments still process on time or were they held until the card arrived?

It usually takes 7-10 business days to receive a new Money Network card in the mail. However, your payment will still be processed and loaded onto your new card even before you receive it. The funds will be waiting for you once the card arrives. If you need the money faster, you can also set up direct deposit in your UI Online account under "Payment Preferences" so future payments go directly to your bank account. This won't affect the current payment going to your card, but will help with future certifications.

•Thanks for the detailed explanation! I'll definitely set up direct deposit for future payments. Do you know if there's any way to track the card shipment?

•Unfortunately, there's no tracking system for the Money Network cards. If you don't receive it within 10 business days, you should call Money Network customer service at 1-866-692-9374 to check on the status.

BEWARE those cards are now sent from Money Network NOT Bank of America like they used to be!!! I waited over 2 weeks for mine because I thought it would look like my old BofA card. The Money Network envelope looks like junk mail - plain white envelope with a return address in South Dakota. I almost threw mine away!!!

•Omg thank you for the heads up! I definitely would have been looking for something that resembled my old BofA card. Will keep an eye out for plain envelopes.

has anyone tried using claimyr to speed up this process? I was in the same situation last month and getting desperate. Found this service at claimyr.com that got me through to an EDD rep in like 20 minutes instead of calling for days. the rep was able to expedite my card. they have a video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km worth checking out if you're in a rush for rent

•I tried using Claimyr too when my new card was taking forever. The EDD rep I talked to said they can't actually expedite the card itself since Money Network handles that part, but they CAN make sure there aren't any holds on your payments. So it's still worth calling to check everything's good on their end.

•That's really helpful, thanks! I'll check out the service if my card doesn't arrive by the end of next week.

My new Money Network card took exactly 8 business days to arrive. Once you get it, make sure you activate it immediately by calling the number on the sticker and setting your PIN. The funds should already be on there from your certification. Also, FYI - the new Money Network cards look completely different from the old BofA ones. They're blue with a California bear logo.

•Thanks for the description! That will help me identify it when it comes. Did you have to transfer any remaining balance from your old card?

•No, any remaining balance on your old card should automatically transfer to the new one once you activate it. Just double-check the balance after activation to make sure everything transferred correctly.

Does anyone know if u can go to a bank and get a cash advance on the card before it arrives?? I had an emergency last yr and found out u can do this with ur account/routing # and ID even with no physical card. Just go to any bank that displays the Visa logo (not sure about Mastercard) and ask for a cash advance.

•This isn't possible with the new Money Network cards, unfortunately. The cash advance option was available with the old Bank of America cards, but Money Network works differently. You'll need to wait for the physical card to arrive before accessing your funds unless you've set up direct deposit.
