EDD website glitch: Blank page when trying to file new claim after making too much on last certification

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble filing a new claim on the unemployment website. When I try to certify, it says there are no weeks available (probably because I made too much money last time to qualify). But when I click the link to file a new claim, it just takes me to a blank page with a weird web address. Has anyone else run into this? Any ideas on how to fix it or who I should contact?

Ugh, the EDD website is such a nightmare! I had a similar issue last month. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Sometimes that helps with weird glitches like this.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give that a try and see if it helps. Fingers crossed 🤞

Clearing cache worked for me too! EDD really needs to get their act together and fix these website issues 🙄

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

Yep, it's legit! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

I've used it twice now. Worked both times. Beats sitting on hold all day!

Have you tried using a different browser? Sometimes the EDD site acts up with certain browsers. I had better luck using Firefox instead of Chrome.

This happened to me last year. Turns out my claim had expired and I needed to file a new one. But the system was glitchy and wouldn't let me. I ended up having to call them (which was a nightmare) to get it sorted out. Good luck!

Oh man, I hope I don't have to call. Did you just keep trying until you got through?

Yeah, it took me like 3 days of constant redialing. It was awful. But once I got through, the rep was able to fix it pretty quickly.

Here's what I'd recommend: 1. Try a different browser or device 2. Clear your cache and cookies 3. Check if you have any browser extensions that might be interfering 4. Make sure your internet connection is stable 5. Try accessing the site during off-peak hours (early morning or late night) 6. If all else fails, you'll probably need to call EDD directly If you do end up needing to call, be prepared for a long wait. Have all your info ready (SSN, past employer details, etc.) and try to call right when they open for the best chance of getting through. Hope this helps!

Wow, thanks for the detailed advice! I'll work through this list and see if I can get it sorted.

This is great info. Saving this for later just in case I run into issues too!

I'm in this comment and I don't like it 😂

Have you checked your inbox on the EDD website? Sometimes they send important messages there about your claim status or required actions. It's easy to miss if you're not looking for it.

Ive been dealing with edd for over a year now and let me tell you, its a complete disaster. my advice? document EVERYTHING. take screenshots, write down who you talk to on the phone, save all emails. youll need it when they inevitably mess something up

That's good advice, thanks. I'll start keeping a log of everything.

Hey OP, any updates? Were you able to file your claim?

Not yet 😩 I've tried a few of the suggestions here but no luck so far. Might have to bite the bullet and try calling tomorrow.

I had the exact same issue a few weeks ago! The blank page thing is so frustrating. What worked for me was disabling all my browser extensions temporarily, then trying again. Apparently some ad blockers and privacy extensions can interfere with the EDD site's functionality. Also try opening an incognito/private browsing window - that helped me get past the blank page. If you're still stuck after trying the browser fixes, you might need to call the technical support line (not the regular claims line) at 1-833-978-2511. They can sometimes reset something on their end that fixes the glitch. Good luck!

This is super helpful! I didn't even think about browser extensions causing issues. I have uBlock Origin and a couple other privacy extensions running. Going to try disabling them and see if that fixes the blank page problem. Thanks for the tip about the technical support line too - I didn't know there was a separate number for tech issues!

OMG thank you so much for this! I just tried disabling my extensions and opening an incognito window and I was finally able to get past that stupid blank page! I can't believe it was something so simple. You just saved me from having to spend hours on hold trying to call them 🙏 Really appreciate you sharing what worked for you!
