EDD says max benefits paid but claim < 1 year old. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my unemployment claim. I filed back in October and just got a notice saying I've received all the benefits payable. The thing is, I haven't hit the one-year mark yet, so I'm pretty sure I should still be eligible for more. Anyone else run into this? How did you get it sorted out?

Ugh, classic EDD nonsense. I swear they just throw darts at a board to decide who gets benefits 🎯 Have you tried calling them? Be prepared to spend your whole day on hold tho

Yeah, I've been trying to get through for days now. It's like trying to win the lottery or something 😫

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 45 mins of hold music that way!

lol good luck with that. i tried calling for weeks and never got through. ended up having to email them and wait forever for a response 🐌

I had the exact same issue! Turns out there was a glitch in their system that was incorrectly calculating benefit periods. You need to speak to a tier 2 representative to get it fixed. Don't let them brush you off with a generic response.

Thanks for the info! How did you manage to get through to a tier 2 rep? Any special tricks?

Honestly, it took a lot of persistence. I called every day for a week, asking specifically for a tier 2 rep each time. Eventually got lucky and got transferred to one who could actually help.

Hey guys, I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda sketchy. How do we know it's legit?

I get the skepticism, but I swear it's legit. Saved me hours of frustration. The video explains it all if you're curious.

Just tried it and it actually worked! Got through to an agent in like 30 mins. Worth every penny tbh 💯

Here's what you need to do: 1. Gather all your claim documents, including the notice you received. 2. Write a clear, concise appeal letter explaining why you believe you're still eligible. 3. Include any supporting evidence (pay stubs, employment dates, etc.) 4. Submit your appeal ASAP - there's usually a deadline. 5. Keep calling until you get through to a rep who can flag your account for review. 6. If all else fails, contact your local state representative's office. They can sometimes expedite EDD issues. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely follow these steps. Fingers crossed it works out 🤞

This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of all your calls and interactions with EDD. It can help if you need to escalate things later.

am i the only 1 who thinks the whole system is rigged? 🤔 like they make it impossible on purpose so ppl just give up

Preach! 🙌 It's a total clown show. They probably hope we'll all just get jobs out of sheer frustration with their BS

0 coins

Nah, I think it's just underfunded and understaffed. Still sucks tho

Have you checked if you qualify for a claim extension? Sometimes they don't automatically apply it and you have to request it specifically.

OMG I'm literally dealing with the exact same thing rn! Filed in November, got the same notice last week. This thread is giving me life 😭 We're all in this sinking ship together I guess

Ugh, sorry you're dealing with this too! Let me know if you find any solutions that work

Will do! Gonna try calling again tomorrow. May the odds be ever in our favor lol
