Unemployment benefits stopped after missing work search proof - help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my unemployment benefits. I got a notice back in November saying I needed to show proof of work search, but I totally missed it. The weird thing is, I still got my benefits up until the end of December. Now since the new year started, I haven't received anything. Anyone else dealing with this or know what I should do?

Ugh, that sucks. I've been there before. Sounds like you might have gotten flagged for not submitting your work search proof. Have you tried calling the unemployment office? They might be able to help you get things sorted out.

•I've been trying to call them for days, but the lines are always busy. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can get through if youre one of the first callers of the day.

This happened to me last year. It's a pain, but you gotta keep trying to reach them. Once you get through, they can usually fix it pretty quick. Don't give up!

The system is so broken, I swear. They make it impossible to get help when you need it. I've been dealing with issues for months now. 😤

•Preach! 🙌 It's like they want us to give up or something.

•Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things along.

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•I was skeptical at first too, but I tried it and it actually worked. Saved me hours of frustration.

•20 bucks tho? That's kinda steep when you're already struggling with benefits...

•I get that, but for me it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Beats losing weeks of benefits.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Write down when you received the notice, when your benefits stopped, and any attempts you've made to contact them. 2. Keep trying to call. Use the tip about calling right when they open. 3. Check your online account if you have one. Sometimes there are messages or requests for information there. 4. If you can't get through by phone, try emailing or sending a written appeal explaining your situation. 5. Be prepared to provide proof of your work search activities, even for the period you missed. 6. If all else fails, contact your local unemployment office in person if possible. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up!

idk man, sometimes I think they do this on purpose to discourage people from claiming benefits. Stay strong and keep fighting!

Have you checked if there were any policy changes at the start of the new year? Sometimes they implement new rules in January and it can affect ongoing claims.
