EDD never sent checks - How to get missing payments reissued?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with some EDD payments that never showed up in my mailbox. I discovered this while doing my taxes and now I need to get these checks reissued. Has anyone gone through this process before? I'm thinking about writing a letter to request the missing payments, but I'm not sure where to send it or what exactly to include. Any advice would be really appreciated!

Ugh, been there done that. EDD is such a pain to deal with. Here's what you need to do: 1. Write a formal letter explaining the situation 2. Include the dates and amounts of the missing payments 3. Send it to: Employment Development Department (EDD) P.O. Box 826880 - UIPCD, MIC 40 Sacramento, CA 94280-0001 Make sure to keep a copy for yourself and send it certified mail so you can track it. Good luck!

•This is solid advice. I'd add that you should also call them if you can. Sometimes a phone call can speed things up.

•Certified mail is key! 💯 I made the mistake of not doing that once and they claimed they never got my letter. Never again!

•Thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed. Do you know how long it usually takes for them to respond?

•In my experience, it can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks. But with EDD, who knows? 🤷♂️ Just keep following up if you don't hear back.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at EDD. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Has anyone else tried this? Kinda worried about giving my info to a third party...

•I get the concern, but they don't actually access your EDD account. They just connect the call. It's worth a shot if you're desperate!

pro tip: if u cant get thru on the phone, try reaching out to ur local assembly members office. they have special contacts at EDD and can sometimes help speed things up

Am I the only one who thinks its RIDICULOUS that we have to jump through all these hoops just to get the money we're owed? 😤 The system is broken af

Quick question - how long ago were these checks supposed to arrive? There might be a time limit on requesting reissues.

•Oh shoot, I didn't even think about that. They were from about 6 months ago. Is that too late?

•You should be okay. I think the limit is like a year or something. But def mention the date in your letter!

Hey OP, just a heads up - make sure you're keeping track of all this for next year's taxes too. Missing payments and reissues can make things complicated. Speaking from experience 😅

have you checked your online EDD account? sometimes the status of payments is updated there before you get any mail
