EDD missed interview call - now need to upload documents but can't find where on website

Pretty frustrated right now! I was scheduled for an eligibility interview with EDD last Thursday but never received any call. I checked my phone records to make sure I didn't miss it - nothing from any EDD or government number. Then yesterday I got this letter in the mail saying I need to send in proof of my work search activities and previous employment verification within 10 days or my claim might be disqualified! The letter mentions I can upload these documents through UI Online, but I can't find where to do this anywhere on the website. I've clicked through every tab and menu but there's no upload option I can see. Has anyone else had to upload documents after a missed interview? Where exactly on the UI Online portal can I find the document upload section?

omg EDD is SO frustrating!!!!! the exact same thing happened to me last month. they scheduled an interview for 1pm on a tuesday, i took time off work and everything, and NO CALL. then i get this scary letter saying i need to send in all this stuff within like a week. the upload thing is actually kinda hidden on the website, you have to go to your homepage, then click on the 'Contact EDD' section, then there should be an option for 'Submit Documents' or something similar. its not obvious AT ALL and took me forever to figure out too

Thank you!! I swear I looked through that section but must have missed it. I'll check again right now.

The document upload feature can be found by following these steps: 1. Log in to UI Online 2. Click on 'Contact EDD' in the menu 3. Select 'Submit Documents' 4. Choose the document type from the dropdown menu 5. Upload your files (PDF, JPEG, or PNG format only, max 24MB total) Make sure you're uploading all the requested documents. For work search, include a list of your job applications with employer names, dates, positions, and contact information. For employment verification, they typically want pay stubs, W-2 forms, or employment letters. Also, I recommend calling EDD to explain that you never received the interview call. They might reschedule it instead of just requiring documents.

This is super helpful! I found it now. For anyone else looking, it's under the 'Contact EDD' section like you said. I'm uploading my documents now. Still going to try calling about the missed interview tomorrow.

dude they ALWAYS do this! happened to my cousin twice. EDD schedules these phantom interviews and then wants you to jump through hoops. its like they WANT to deny your claim!

They absolutely do want to deny claims. It's all about their metrics. If they can find any reason to disqualify you, they will. Keep every email, letter, and document they send you and document EVERY call. You'll need it all if they try to hit you with an overpayment notice later.

I've been through this exact situation. First, definitely upload those documents ASAP through the pathway others mentioned. But you also need to contact EDD about the missed interview. The frustrating part is calling - you'll likely get the "we're experiencing high call volume" message and get disconnected. I spent 3 days trying to reach someone before I discovered Claimyr (claimyr.com). It's a service that helps you get through to an EDD agent quickly instead of calling hundreds of times. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km Once you reach someone, explain that you never received the interview call. Ask them to document this in your file and request a new interview. Some agents can reschedule on the spot, others will submit a request to the interview department.

I've been hearing about that service! After trying to call 27 times this morning and getting nowhere, I might give it a try. At this point I just need to talk to a human being at EDD. Did you have a good experience with it?

Just checked my inbox and there's nothing new there since the original interview notice from two weeks ago. No reschedule or cancellation notices at all. It's like they just forgot about me.

Wait I'm confused... are you on regular UI or disability? Because the document upload process is completely different for SDI claims. I made that mistake once and was uploading to the wrong system for days wondering why nothing was processing.

I'm on regular UI. Was laid off from my retail management position about 5 weeks ago. This is for the standard unemployment claim process.

Ok good, just making sure! The UI Online upload should work then. The SDI system is completely separate and looks totally different.

After you upload the documents, take screenshots of your confirmation page and download any receipts they provide. And make sure to call back in a week if your claim status doesn't update. Sometimes documents sit in their system without being reviewed.

Got it! I just finished uploading everything and took screenshots of the confirmation number. Now I just need to try calling again tomorrow to see about rescheduling that interview.

Sounds like another case of EDD's left hand not knowing what the right is doing. Their phone system is a complete joke. I spent 3 weeks trying to reach someone before finding a way through. When you finally get an agent, demand that they note in your file that THEY missed the interview, not you. Otherwise, they might try to impose a false statement penalty week where you don't get paid even if your claim is approved.

This is excellent advice. Having the agent document that EDD missed the call (not you) is crucial for avoiding penalty weeks. Also ask for a direct confirmation number for the call and the agent's ID number. It helps tremendously if you need to reference the conversation later.

Update us on how it goes! I'm curious if you're able to get this resolved. The document upload is just step one - getting a human on the phone who can actually help is the real challenge with EDD.

Will do! I tried that Claimyr service the other commenter mentioned and actually got through to someone at EDD this afternoon! The agent was super helpful and said this happens all the time. They rescheduled my interview for next week and put a note in my file that I had uploaded all the requested documents ahead of time. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly from here!
