EDD claim processed but no payment yet - should I call PFL instead?
Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my unemployment claim. It says processed but I still haven't received any payment. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking about calling PFL instead of EDD to see if that helps. Anyone know if it costs more to call PFL?

Yeah, I've been there. PFL (Paid Family Leave) is actually a different program from regular unemployment (EDD). They handle different types of claims, so calling PFL probably won't help with your unemployment issue. As for the cost, it depends on how you're calling. What's your specific situation with EDD?

•Oh, I didn't realize they were different programs. Thanks for clarifying! I filed my claim about 3 weeks ago and got a notification that it was processed, but still no $$ in my account. 😕

•Gotcha. 3 weeks is a bit long, but not unheard of. Have you checked your EDD account online? Sometimes there's more info there about the status of your claim.

•Yeah, I checked online. It just says 'processed' but doesn't give any more details. Guess I'll have to try calling EDD directly. 😩

Ugh, the EDD system is such a mess rn. I've been waiting for 6 weeks with no payment. 🤬 Good luck getting through on the phone, it's like winning the lottery!

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•I was skeptical too, but I swear it worked for me. Got through in about 2 hours instead of calling all day for a week straight.

Here's what I've learned from my EDD hell: 1. 'Processed' doesn't always mean 'paid'. There could be identity verification issues. 2. Check your spam folder for emails from EDD. 3. If you can, try to certify for benefits online instead of by mail. 4. Keep a record of all your attempts to contact them. 5. Sometimes, reaching out to your local assembly member can help push things along. Hang in there, OP. The system is overwhelmed but they'll get to you eventually.

I heard they're updating the system soon. Maybe wait a few days and check again? Sometimes these things resolve themselves.

•Source? I've been waiting for them to 'update the system' since like 1995 🙄

•Fair point 😅 Just repeating what I heard from a friend who works in gov. Take it with a grain of salt I guess
