EDD Extension Review: 2 Weeks Since Interview, No Update. Normal Wait Time?
Hey everyone, I had a phone interview about my unemployment extension about 2 weeks ago. They said they'd review my claim, but I haven't heard anything back yet. Anyone know how long it usually takes to get an update on the renewal status? I'm getting a bit anxious here.

Ugh, I feel you. I've been in the same boat. It took them almost a month to get back to me after my interview. The waiting game is brutal.

ā¢A month?! That's ridiculous. Don't they realize people have bills to pay? š¤¬

ā¢Seriously! I had to borrow money from family just to make rent while waiting. The system is so broken.

ā¢Yeah, it's tough. I ended up picking up some gig work just to scrape by. Hang in there, OP!

In my experience, it can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks. Have you tried checking your online account for any updates? Sometimes they update there before calling.

ā¢Thanks for the tip! I've been checking online daily, but no luck so far. Guess I'll just have to be patient... š©

Pro tip: I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

ā¢Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

ā¢$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery! š¤

ā¢I get the skepticism, but it honestly saved me weeks of stress. Worth every penny imho.

ā¢Can confirm, I used it too. Beats calling 100 times a day and never getting through.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for way too long: ⢠Be persistent. Keep calling and checking your online account. ⢠Document everything. Write down who you talked to and when. ⢠If you can, try to find your local assembly member's office. They sometimes can help push things along. ⢠Don't give up! It's frustrating, but eventually they'll get to your case. Hang in there, OP. We're all in this mess together. šŖ

ā¢This is solid advice. The assembly member tip is clutch - they helped me break through the bureaucracy.

Anyone else notice that ever since they "upgraded" their system, everything's been slower? I swear they're just making excuses at this point.

I heard they're super backlogged bc of all the fraud cases they're dealing with. Might be why it's taking so long for legit claims too.

ā¢Great, so we're all suffering bc some scammers had to ruin it for everyone. Typical. š

Yo, has anyone tried showing up in person at an EDD office? I'm bout ready to camp out if that's what it takes to get answers.

ā¢I tried that last month. They just told me to go home and wait. Total waste of time.
