EDD extension forms not received in mail after text confirmation - what to do?
Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my unemployment benefits extension. I got a text saying they received my doctor's info, but I haven't gotten anything in the mail about extending my benefits for every 2 weeks. It's been a while and I'm getting worried. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. It's so frustrating! I've been waiting for weeks and nothing. The EDD is such a mess 🤦♂️

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be proactive and get on the phone to sort these things out.

•I've tried calling so many times, but I can never get through. It's always busy or they hang up on me 😫

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59 AM. Worked for me!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check your address on file with EDD. Log into your account and make sure it's correct. 2. If the address is right, call the EDD and ask about the status of your extension. 3. Be prepared with your claim number and any relevant dates. 4. If you can't get through on the phone, try sending a message through your online account. 5. As a last resort, contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help push things through. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is overwhelmed, but you'll get your benefits eventually.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. It might come in handy later.

I heard they're switching to a new system soon. Maybe wait a bit and see if that helps? 🤔

This happened to me last year. Turns out they had my old address on file even tho I updated it online. Double check everything!
