Hey everyone, I need some help with my unemployment claim. I filed last January, but I'm not sure when I can open it again this year. Does anyone know if there's a specific date or time frame I need to wait for? I tried calling the unemployment office, but I've been on hold forever and the music just cut out. OP, how long has it been since you requested the replacement checks? Sometimes it can take up to 10 business days for them to process and mail them out.
It's been about 3 weeks now. I know they said it could take some time, but I'm getting really anxious about it.
Ah, gotcha. Yeah, that's definitely past the normal timeframe. Def try some of the other suggestions here, especially contacting your assemblymember.
Anyone else feel like the whole unemployment system is held together with duct tape and prayers? 🙏 It's 2023, why is this still so complicated?

Has anyone had luck getting their case out of pending status quickly? I've been waiting for weeks and I'm starting to panic...
Try calling first thing in the morning, like right when they open. Sometimes you can catch someone before the lines get crazy.
I emailed them every day until they responded. Squeaky wheel gets the grease and all that 🤷♂️
EDD Parental Leave Pending & C-Section Disability Claim Help Needed
Hey everyone, I'm dealing with a parental leave case that's been pending for a while now. On top of that, my wife had a c-section and we're trying to figure out her disability claim too. Anyone have experience with either of these? What should I be asking when I finally get through to someone?

Heads up, they might try to lowball you on the c-section recovery time. My wife's doctor recommended 8 weeks, but they initially only approved 6. We had to appeal to get the full time. Don't be afraid to push back if needed!
