Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. This happened to me last year. Turns out my claim had expired and I needed to file a new one. Might be worth checking if that's your issue too.

Log into your EDD account online. It should show your claim status and end date. If it's expired, you'll need to file a new claim.

What's the criteria for using the Taxpayer Advocate Service? Never heard of it before.
They typically help if you're experiencing financial hardship, if the IRS hasn't responded to you within 30 days, or if you believe an IRS system/procedure isn't working as it should. Check out their website for more details!
Honestly, at this point I'm considering hiring a tax professional just to deal with the IRS for me. Anyone had experience with that? Is it worth the cost?
I did it last year and it was a game changer. Expensive, but they handled everything and I didn't have to stress about it.
Depends on how complicated your tax situation is. For basic stuff, probably not worth it. But if you've got a complex return or ongoing issues, it can be a lifesaver.

Ugh, I feel for you. The whole system is so broken. I had to jump through so many hoops just to get my regular unemployment. It's like they don't want us to get the benefits we're entitled to 🙄

This might sound crazy, but have you tried faxing your documents? I know it's 2023, but sometimes these government agencies are stuck in the stone age. It worked for me when nothing else did.

•You can use online fax services if you don't have access to a physical fax machine. Just Google 'online fax service' and you'll find plenty of options.
