PFL claim denied, no mail received. Need appeal form & reasons for denial. Help!
My PFL claim got denied and I'm not getting any mail about it. I need to know why and get an appeal form. Anyone else dealing with this? What should I do?

Ugh, been there done that. The EDD is a nightmare to deal with. Have you tried calling them? It's like trying to win the lottery, but sometimes you get lucky.

•Calling is useless. I spent 3 days trying to get through and when I finally did, they put me on hold for 2 hours then hung up on me 🤬

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins of trying. Still sucks, but better than nothing.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•20 bucks? That's highway robbery!

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

•How long did it take for them to get through?

•It took about an hour and a half, but I was able to do other stuff while waiting. They just called me when an agent was on the line.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your online account: Sometimes they post denial reasons there even if you don't get mail. 2. Request a copy of your claim file: You have the right to see all documents related to your claim. This might show why it was denied. 3. Appeal ASAP: You usually have 30 days from the denial date to appeal. Don't wait for the mail if you know it's denied. 4. Get the appeal form: You can download it from the EDD website or request one by phone. 5. Gather evidence: Start collecting docs that support your claim (medical records, employment info, etc). 6. Consider legal help: Some nonprofits offer free help with PFL appeals. Don't give up! The system is frustrating but keep pushing. Good luck!

The whole system is rigged against us, I swear. They make it so complicated on purpose so people just give up. Don't let them win!

•Preach! 🙌 It's like they forget we're real people with bills to pay.

I had a similar issue last year. Turns out they had my old address on file even though I updated it online. Double-check your contact info in the system.

•Oh man, I didn't even think of that. I'll definitely check. Thanks for the tip!

Anyone else notice that ever since they "upgraded" their system, everything's been even more of a mess? 🤔

Hey OP, what reason did they give for the denial? Sometimes it's just a simple mistake that can be easily fixed.

•That's the thing - I don't know. I can't get any info about why it was denied. That's why I'm so frustrated.

•Oof, that's rough. Definitely try calling or using that service someone mentioned above. You need to get that info ASAP.

Pro tip: Keep a log of every interaction you have with EDD. Date, time, who you talked to, what they said. It'll help if you need to escalate things later.

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help cut through the red tape.

•This! My cousin did this and suddenly EDD was super helpful. It's sad that it takes political pressure, but hey, whatever works.
