PFL claim approved for a week, no direct deposit yet. When to expect payment?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. My PFL claim status has been showing as "approved" for over a week now, but I still haven't received my direct deposit. I'm getting worried and have a bunch of questions: 1. How can I find out the exact date my claim was processed? 2. What's the usual timeframe between approval and when the money hits your account? 3. Is there anything that could be holding up my payments? 4. When should I expect to get paid, and will it all come at once or in separate deposits? Any advice or similar experiences would be really appreciated!

Ugh, I feel ya. The waiting game is the worst! 😫 I was in the same boat last month. For me, it took about 10 business days after approval to see the money. Hang in there!

•10 business days?! 😱 That's so long... Did you have to do anything to speed it up or did it just show up?

•Nah, I just had to wait it out. It sucked, but it did come eventually. If it goes past 2 weeks, def give em a call tho

Here's what I know from my experience and research: 1. Call the PFL office and ask for the exact processing date. They should have that info. 2. Typically, it takes 5-10 business days from approval to deposit. But it can vary. 3. Possible hold-ups: - Incorrect banking info - First-time claims sometimes take longer - System glitches (it happens more than you'd think) 4. Payment schedule: - Usually all at once for shorter claims - Bi-weekly for longer claims Pro tip: Keep checking your claim status online. Sometimes the website updates before the money hits your account. Hope this helps! Let us know when you get your $$$!

•Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! 🙏 This is super helpful. I'll definitely give them a call to check on the processing date.

•Great info! Quick question - do weekends count in those 5-10 business days or just weekdays?

•Just weekdays! The govt doesn't work weekends (must be nice, right? 😂

Have you tried calling them? I know its a pain, but sometimes you gotta be the squeaky wheel to get the grease.

•I've tried, but I can never get through. It's always busy or I'm on hold forever. 😩

•Pro tip: I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Wait, what? Is that even legal? Sounds kinda sketchy...

•Totally legal! It's just a service that waits on hold for you. I was skeptical too, but it saved me hours of hold time.

•I've heard of this! My cousin used it for EDD calls. Said it was a lifesaver.

Anyone else notice that the PFL system seems to be extra slow lately? I wonder if they're short-staffed or something.

•I heard they're updating their computer systems. Might be causing delays across the board.

Quick question - did you check if your banking info is correct on your claim? I once had a delay because I fat-fingered my account number 🤦♂️

•Oh snap, I didn't even think of that! I'll double-check right now. Thanks for the tip!

Unpopular opinion: maybe we should all just be grateful this benefit exists at all? Some states don't even have PFL...

•True, but that doesn't mean we can't expect better service. We pay into this system, after all.

•👆 This. Just because others have it worse doesn't mean we can't strive for improvement.

Hey Diego! I totally get your frustration - the waiting is the absolute worst part of this whole process. I went through something similar a few months back. Here's what I learned: The approval date and payment date are two totally different things. When they say "approved," it usually means they've decided you're eligible, but then it still has to go through their payment processing system, which is... let's just say not exactly lightning fast 😅 From my experience and what I've seen others post here, you're looking at roughly 7-14 business days from approval to actually seeing the money in your account. I know that's a huge range, but it really does vary. One thing that helped me was setting up text alerts with my bank so I'd know the second any deposit came in. Saved me from obsessively checking my account every hour! Also, if you haven't already, definitely verify your direct deposit info is correct in the system. I've seen people wait weeks only to find out there was a typo in their routing number. Hang in there - it WILL come! And when it does, it's usually the full amount all at once (at least for shorter claims).
