PFL payment approved but not received yet - how long does it usually take?
Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my PFL payment. It was approved a few days ago, but I still haven't received the money. Has anyone else experienced this? How long does it usually take for the payment to come through after approval? I'm getting a bit worried since I really need these funds.

Ugh, I'm in the same boat! My PFL was approved last week and still nothing in my account. It's so frustrating when you're counting on that money to come through. Have you tried calling them?

•I've been trying to call all morning but can't get through. The wait times are insane! 😫

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 20 mins of waiting last time I did that.

•Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

In my experience, it usually takes about 5-7 business days after approval for the payment to hit your account. But with all the delays lately, who knows? The system is so backed up its ridiculous.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

•20 bucks? That's highway robbery! The government should make it easier to reach them without having to pay extra.

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying to get through, I was desperate. Worth every penny to finally talk to a human and get my issue resolved.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with PFL payments: 1. Approval doesn't mean immediate payment. There's usually a processing period. 2. Bank holidays can delay things further. 3. Sometimes there are random audits that can hold up payments. 4. If it's been more than 10 business days, definitely try to contact them. 5. Check your claim status online if possible - sometimes there's additional info there. 6. Make sure all your banking info is correct in their system. Hang in there, OP! The system is frustrating but you'll get your money eventually.

•Thank you so much for this detailed response! This is really helpful. I'll double-check my banking info and keep an eye on the online status.

•This should be pinned at the top of the subreddit tbh. So many people have this same question.

I hate to be that person, but have you checked your spam folder? My payment notification ended up there and I almost missed it.

This happened to me last year. Turns out there was a discrepancy in my paperwork that I didn't even notice. Might be worth double-checking all your docs if you can get ahold of someone.

•Oh no, that's my worst nightmare. I'll definitely review everything again. Thanks for the heads up!

Not to freak you out, but my coworker had her identity stolen and someone tried to redirect her PFL payments. If it's taking unusually long, might be worth checking if there's been any suspicious activity.

•Omg that's terrifying! How did she find out?

•She got a letter in the mail about a change to her direct deposit info that she never made. It was a whole ordeal to sort out.

I'm dealing with the exact same issue right now! My PFL was approved about 6 days ago and I'm still waiting for the payment to show up. From what I've been reading online, it seems like 5-10 business days is pretty normal, but the waiting is so stressful when you're depending on that money. I've been checking my bank account obsessively every few hours 😅 Have you been able to check your claim status online at all? Sometimes they update it there before the payment actually hits your account.

•I totally feel you on checking the bank account obsessively! 😅 I've been doing the same thing - probably checking like 10 times a day at this point. It's so nerve-wracking when you're counting on that money. I haven't been able to check the online status yet (the website keeps timing out on me), but that's a great suggestion. Maybe I'll try again later tonight when there's less traffic. It's somewhat reassuring to know that 5-10 business days is normal, even though it feels like forever when you're waiting!

I'm also waiting on my PFL payment! Mine was approved 4 days ago and still nothing. Reading through all these responses is actually making me feel a bit better - sounds like this delay is pretty common. I'm going to try calling first thing tomorrow morning like Caesar suggested, and I'll also double-check my banking info online. It's so frustrating that we have to jump through hoops just to get the benefits we're entitled to, but at least we're all in this together! Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - it really helps to know I'm not alone in this.

•Same here! It's definitely reassuring to see so many people going through the exact same thing. I was starting to think something was wrong with my claim specifically, but it sounds like these delays are just the unfortunate norm right now. I'm on day 3 since approval and getting antsy too. Going to follow everyone's advice and try calling bright and early tomorrow - hopefully we can all get some answers soon! 🤞

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! My PFL was approved 5 days ago and I'm still waiting. I've been reading through everyone's responses and it's actually really comforting to know this is such a common issue - I was starting to panic that something was wrong with my specific case. I tried calling yesterday but gave up after being on hold for over an hour. Definitely going to try the early morning approach that Caesar mentioned. Also going to double-check all my banking info online just to be safe. One thing I noticed is that my claim status online still shows "approved" but doesn't give any timeline for when the payment will actually be processed. Has anyone else noticed if the status changes to something like "payment issued" before it hits your account? Hang in there everyone - sounds like we just need to be patient (as frustrating as that is when you really need the money)! 💪

•Yes! I've been wondering about the same thing with the status changes. Mine still just says "approved" too with no indication of when payment will actually be sent. I've been checking multiple times a day hoping it would update to something more specific like "payment processing" or "payment issued" but no luck yet. From what I've gathered from everyone's responses, it seems like the online system isn't always the most reliable for tracking the actual payment timeline. Some people have mentioned their payments showed up without the status ever changing online. I'm on day 6 since approval now and trying to stay patient, but it's so hard when you're counting on that money! Going to try the early morning calling strategy tomorrow too. Thanks for sharing your experience - it really does help to know we're all dealing with the same frustrating wait! 🤞

I'm in a similar situation - my PFL was approved 8 days ago and still no payment! I was getting really anxious thinking something went wrong, but reading everyone's experiences here is actually really reassuring. It sounds like these delays are unfortunately pretty normal right now. I did manage to get through to someone on the phone yesterday (took 3 hours of waiting!) and they told me that even after approval, there's an additional processing period that can take 7-14 business days depending on their current backlog. The rep said my claim looked fine and the payment should come through within the next few days. For anyone still waiting - definitely try calling early in the morning like others suggested, and don't panic if it's been less than 10 business days. The system is just really backed up right now. I know it's stressful when you're depending on that money, but hang in there! Also want to echo what Beatrice said about double-checking your banking info - apparently incorrect account details is one of the most common reasons for payment delays.

•Thank you so much for actually getting through to someone and sharing what they told you! 7-14 business days after approval is longer than I was hoping for, but at least now I have a realistic timeline to work with. I'm on day 6 since my approval, so sounds like I need to be more patient. It's really helpful to know that the rep confirmed your claim looked fine - gives me hope that mine is probably just stuck in the processing queue too. I'm definitely going to try calling early tomorrow morning, but your post has already eased a lot of my anxiety about this. Thanks for taking the time to update us after you got through!

I'm going through this exact same thing right now! My PFL was approved 6 days ago and I'm still anxiously waiting for the payment to show up in my account. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been such a relief - I was starting to worry that something was specifically wrong with my claim, but it sounds like these delays are just the unfortunate reality right now. I've been obsessively checking my bank account multiple times a day (anyone else doing this? 😅) and the waiting is driving me crazy, especially when you're really counting on that money. Based on what everyone's shared, it sounds like 5-10 business days is pretty typical, with some cases taking up to 14 days due to backlogs. I'm going to try the early morning calling strategy that several people mentioned, and I'll also double-check my banking information online just to be safe. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and timelines - it really helps to know we're all dealing with the same frustrating wait together! Hopefully we'll all see our payments come through soon. 🤞

•Yes, I'm totally doing the obsessive bank account checking too! 😅 It's like a compulsive habit at this point - I probably check 15+ times a day hoping to see that magical deposit finally appear. You're definitely not alone in this! I'm on day 7 since my approval and the waiting is absolutely brutal when you're depending on that money for bills and expenses. This thread has been such a lifesaver though - before reading everyone's experiences I was convinced something was wrong with my specific case. Now I know it's just the unfortunate reality of how slow the system is right now. Going to try calling first thing tomorrow morning and crossing my fingers we all get some good news soon! 🤞

I'm dealing with this exact same frustrating situation! My PFL was approved 9 days ago and I'm still waiting for the payment to hit my account. It's such a relief to read through everyone's experiences here - I was starting to panic that there was something wrong with my specific claim, but it sounds like these delays are just par for the course unfortunately. The waiting is absolutely nerve-wracking when you're depending on that money for rent and bills. I've definitely joined the "obsessive bank account checking" club that others mentioned - probably refreshing my banking app 20+ times a day at this point! 😅 Based on what Yara shared about actually getting through to someone, it sounds like 7-14 business days after approval is the realistic timeline we should expect due to their current backlog. That's longer than I was hoping for, but at least now I know what to expect. I'm going to try the early morning calling strategy tomorrow that Caesar and others recommended. Also going to double-check all my banking info online just to make sure there's nothing holding things up on my end. Thanks to everyone for sharing your experiences and timelines - this community support makes the waiting so much more bearable! Fingers crossed we all see our payments come through soon. Hang in there everyone! 💪

•I'm so glad I found this thread! I'm on day 5 since my PFL approval and was getting really anxious about the delay, but reading everyone's experiences is making me feel so much better. The obsessive bank account checking is SO real - I thought I was the only one doing that! 😅 It's honestly become like a nervous tic at this point. I'm definitely going to try calling early tomorrow morning based on everyone's advice, and I'll make sure to verify my banking details too. Thanks for sharing your timeline Ava - knowing that even 9 days is still within the "normal" range (as frustrating as that is) helps set my expectations. This waiting game is brutal when you really need the funds, but at least we're all going through it together! 🤞
