Need help reaching PFL EDD rep - been on hold forever! Any tips?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to get through to someone at the paid family leave EDD office. Been on hold forever and can't seem to reach a real person. Anyone else dealing with this? Any tips on how to actually talk to a representative?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I've been trying to get through for weeks. It's like they don't want us to actually use the benefits we're entitled to. š

ā¢Weeks? Try months! I swear they're purposely understaffed to save money. It's ridiculous.

ā¢Have you guys tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

ā¢Tried that, no luck. Even set an alarm for 7:55 AM. Still nothing š

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

ā¢Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

ā¢Yeah, I was skeptical at first too, but I gave it a shot out of desperation. It actually worked! Got through to an agent in about an hour.

ā¢$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery!

ā¢I get it, but for me, it was worth it. I was losing way more than $20 in missed work trying to get through on my own.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for way too long: ⢠Call early in the morning, like right when they open ⢠If you get a busy signal, hang up and immediately redial ⢠Use all the phone lines they have available, not just the main one ⢠Be prepared with all your info before you call ⢠If you get through, be super nice to the rep (they deal with angry people all day) ⢠If one rep can't help, politely ask to speak with a supervisor Hope this helps someone! It's a frustrating process, but don't give up!

ā¢Great advice! I'd add: keep a log of all your calls (date, time, who you spoke to) in case you need to reference it later.

Has anyone tried reaching out to their local representative? I've heard sometimes they can help push things through.

ā¢I did this! My state assembly member's office was actually super helpful. Took a few weeks, but they got things moving for me.

ā¢How do you even find out who your local rep is?

ā¢Just Google '[your city] state representative' - should pop right up. Most have contact forms on their websites.

Pro tip: if u get through, ask for a direct callback number or extension. Sometimes they'll give u one and it's like striking gold for future calls!
