Need help re-establishing parental leave on EDD website - tips?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to re-establish my parental leave through the EDD website. Has anyone gone through this process recently? Any tips or things I should watch out for? I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and could use some advice.

Ugh, the EDD website is such a nightmare! I had to do this last year and it took forever. Make sure you have all your documents ready before you start. They ask for a ton of info.

For real tho 💯 That website is straight up from the 90s or smthn

What kind of documents did they ask for? I'm about to start this process too and wanna be prepared

@profile 3 They wanted proof of birth, employment verification, and some medical forms. It's been a while so I don't remember everything, but def have those ready!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda sketchy

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

How long did you have to wait once they connected you?

@profile 7 It took about 45 minutes total, but I was able to do other stuff while waiting for the call back. Way better than being stuck on hold myself!

Here's a step-by-step guide for re-establishing parental leave through EDD: 1. Gather all necessary documents (birth certificate, employment verification, medical forms) 2. Log into your EDD account 3. Navigate to the 'Claims' section 4. Select 'File New Claim' or 'Reopen Claim' depending on your situation 5. Fill out all required information accurately 6. Upload any requested documents 7. Review and submit your application 8. Note your confirmation number Tips: - Double-check all info before submitting - Keep track of your claim number - Be patient, processing can take 2-3 weeks - If you don't hear back, try calling or using the online messaging system Hope this helps! Good luck with your claim 👍

Thank you so much! This is super helpful. Do you know if there's a way to save my progress if I can't finish it all in one go?

Glad I could help! Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to save progress mid-application. It's best to set aside a chunk of time to complete it all at once. Maybe have a partner or friend nearby to help if needed!

Has anyone had luck getting their claim approved faster? I've been waiting for almost a month now and still nothing 😩

I'm in the same boat. Going on 6 weeks now. This is getting ridiculous!

Try contacting your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help speed things up with EDD. Worked for me!

Pro tip: take screenshots of EVERYTHING during the application process. You never know when you might need to prove you submitted something.

This!!! 💯 Saved my butt when they claimed they never got my docs

Anyone else feel like they need a law degree just to understand all the parental leave rules? 🤔 I swear I've read the same paragraph 10 times and still don't get it

Lol for real. I think they make it confusing on purpose 🤡

Check out r/legaladvice, they sometimes have good explanations for this stuff
