Need EDD denial letter after maxing out benefits - claim disappeared from system. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I maxed out my state unemployment benefit and now my claim has disappeared from the system. I really need to get a denial letter for work purposes. Has anyone been through this before? Any advice on how to get this letter quickly?

Ugh, been there done that. The system is such a mess rn. Have you tried calling the EDD? Fair warning tho, it's like trying to win the lottery getting through to them.

•I've been trying to call for days now. It's either busy signals or getting disconnected after waiting for hours. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: try calling right when they open. I managed to get through once doing that. Still took forever, but at least I got a human eventually.

•calling is useless tbh. i've had better luck with the online portal. have you checked there for any updates or messages?

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this? 🤔

•I get the skepticism, but honestly, after spending days trying to get through, it was worth every penny for me. Saved me so much time and stress.

•How long did it take for you to get connected to an agent using this service?

•It took about 2 hours, but the beauty is you don't have to sit there listening to hold music. They call you when an agent picks up.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they post important documents there, including denial letters. Might save you a phone call if it's already uploaded.

This happened to me last year. Here's what I did: 1. Logged into my online account and screenshot everything 2. Went to my local EDD office in person (bring ID and all relevant docs) 3. Explained the situation and requested a printed denial letter 4. They were able to generate one on the spot It took about half a day, but I walked out with the letter in hand. Hope this helps!

•Wow, thank you so much for the detailed steps! I didn't even think about going in person. I'll definitely try this if I can't get through on the phone.

•This is solid advice. In-person is always better when dealing with government stuff. Good luck, OP!

This whole situation is ridiculous. We pay into this system our entire working lives and when we need it, it's a complete clown show. 🤡 The government needs to get its act together.

•Preach! 🙌 It's like they're purposely making it difficult so people just give up.

Hey OP, just a heads up - make sure you keep all your documentation, even after you get the denial letter. I had a similar issue and ended up needing to reference old docs months later. Better safe than sorry!

I went through this exact same thing about 6 months ago. My claim vanished from the system right after I exhausted my benefits and I was panicking because I needed that denial letter for my new job. Here's what worked for me: I sent a written request through their Contact EDD form on their website specifically asking for a "Notice of Determination" or denial letter. I included my SSN, claim dates, and explained that my claim disappeared from the online portal. It took about 2-3 weeks but they mailed it to me. Way less stressful than trying to get through on the phone! Also document everything - screenshot your online account showing no active claim before it completely disappears.
