How to fix incorrect PFL start dates after work maternity leave ends?
Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my paid family leave dates. I got some paperwork in the mail showing incorrect start dates. The thing is, I need my paid family leave to begin right after my work's maternity leave ends. I'm currently not working and I'm not sure how to fix this. Has anyone dealt with something similar? Any advice on how to approach this when I call them?

Ugh, bureaucracy at its finest 🙄 I had a similar issue last year. Here's what worked for me: 1. Gather all your docs - work maternity leave info, the incorrect paperwork, etc. 2. Call them ASAP. The longer you wait, the more complicated it gets. 3. Be super clear about the dates. Tell them exactly when your work leave ends and when you need the paid family leave to start. 4. Ask them to confirm the changes on the call and request a follow-up email or letter. 5. If they give you trouble, ask to speak to a supervisor. Good luck! The system's a mess, but stay persistent!

•This is solid advice 💯 I'd add: take notes during the call, including the rep's name and ID number if possible. It helps if you need to follow up later.

Pro tip: I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. Used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials through the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. Costs $20 but saved me hours of frustration. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep for just a phone call.

•I get the skepticism, but it's 100% legit. Used it twice now. Yeah, $20 isn't cheap, but consider how much time and stress it saves. For me, it was worth every penny.

Oof, been there done that. The whole system is a joke tbh. I swear they make it confusing on purpose 🤡

Quick question - did you submit any documentation from your employer about your maternity leave end date? That might help streamline the process.

•I haven't yet, but that's a great idea. I'll get that from HR asap. Thanks!

Not to be that guy, but have you checked their website? Sometimes you can make these changes online without calling. Might save you some time and headache.
