Filed DE2504REJ for EDD claim, now what? Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment claim. I filled out the DE2504REJ form, but now I'm not sure what to do next. Do I need to fill out a different form to actually get paid? This whole process is so confusing!

Oh man, you're barking up the wrong tree! The DE2504REJ form is for something totally different. What you need is the Continued Claim Form (DE 4581). That's the one that'll actually get you paid. Have you filled that out yet?

•Ugh, seriously? 🤦♂️ I had no idea. Thanks for letting me know! Do you know where I can find that form?

•No prob! You can usually find it on the EDD website under the 'Forms and Publications' section. Just search for DE 4581 and it should pop right up.

•Pro tip: Set a reminder on your phone to fill out the DE 4581 every two weeks. That way you dont forget and delay your payments!

I feel your pain, OP. The EDD system is a total nightmare. I spent weeks trying to figure out which forms to fill out. It's like they purposely make it confusing just to mess with us 🙄

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at EDD! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you to a live agent when one picks up. It costs $20, but it totally worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

•I was skeptical at first too, but I can confirm it's 100% legit. Saved me hours of frustration!

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😡

•I get it, but for me, it was worth every penny. Time is money, and I was wasting way too much time on hold.

Listen up, folks! 📢 Here's a comprehensive guide to navigating the EDD claim process: 1. File your initial claim online or by phone 2. Wait for your claim to be processed (can take 2-3 weeks) 3. Receive your Customer Account Number in the mail 4. Register for UI Online 5. Certify for benefits every two weeks using Form DE 4581 6. Keep all your documentation and correspondence Remember, persistence is key. If you're having trouble, don't give up! Keep calling, emailing, and checking your account. And don't forget to report any income you earn while receiving benefits. Hope this helps someone out there! 💪

•Quick question - do you know how long it usually takes to get the Customer Account Number? It's been almost a month for me and still nothing 😕

•It typically takes 2-3 weeks, but with the current backlog, it could take longer. If it's been a month, I'd definitely try to contact them. Good luck!

Has anyone else noticed that the EDD website is always down for "scheduled maintenance" whenever you actually need to use it? 🙄

•OMG YES! It's like they know exactly when I'm free to do my certification and BAM! 'Sorry, we're down for maintenance' 😤

•Pro tip: Try accessing the site late at night or early in the morning. Less traffic and fewer 'maintenance' issues.

Guys, I just got off the phone with an EDD rep (after waiting on hold for 3 hours 💀). They said there's been a glitch in the system affecting some DE2504REJ forms. If you filed one recently, you might want to call and check on its status.

Hang in there @Sophia! 🫂 I went through the exact same confusion last year. The DE2504REJ is actually for rejecting work offers while on unemployment - totally different from what you need for regular benefit payments. Here's what saved my sanity: create a little cheat sheet with all the form numbers and what they're for. DE 4581 (like @Aiden mentioned) is your bread and butter - that's your bi-weekly certification. Keep copies of EVERYTHING you submit, and don't be afraid to call multiple times if you get conflicting info from different reps. The system is definitely broken, but you'll get through this! 💪
