EDD system error erased my PFL claim submission - need receipt number help!

I just finished submitting my paid family leave claim and the system kicked me out before I could write down the confirmation info. Now when I try to log back in, there's no record of my submission. I really need that receipt number for the physician confirmation part. Has anyone else dealt with this? It's so frustrating when these system errors make something simple so complicated!

Ugh, that sucks! I had a similar issue last month. Have you tried checking your email for any confirmation messages? Sometimes they send those automatically.

Nope, not even a saved copy in my email. It's like it never happened! 😫

Dang, that's rough. Might have to call them directly then. Good luck getting through tho, their phone lines are always jammed.

I feel your pain! The EDD system is a nightmare. I've been dealing with them for months and it's always one problem after another. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Sometimes that helps with weird glitches.

Pro tip: I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

Yep, totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

I've used it twice now. It's a lifesaver when you're desperate to talk to someone.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Take a deep breath. These things happen more often than you'd think. 2. Try logging in again after a few hours. Sometimes the system needs time to update. 3. If that doesn't work, call the EDD directly. Be prepared for a long wait. 4. When you get through, explain the situation calmly. Ask if they can retrieve your submission or receipt number. 5. If they can't find it, you might need to resubmit. Ask the agent to note your account about the system error. 6. In the future, always screenshot confirmation pages or write down info immediately. 7. Consider using a password manager to auto-save form submissions. Hang in there! It's frustrating, but you'll get it sorted out. 💪

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try logging in again later and then call if needed. Appreciate the support! 🙏

Great advice! I'd add: keep a log of all your calls and interactions. It can be helpful if you need to escalate later.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? 😜 But seriously, these systems are so outdated. It's ridiculous we have to deal with this in 2023.

Oof, I'm in the same boat. Been trying to sort out my claim for weeks now. The whole system needs an overhaul tbh. Hang in there!

Hot take: maybe if we all complain enough on Twitter, they'll finally update their system? 🤔

Lol good luck with that. They probably use carrier pigeons to check their mentions 🐦
