EDD claim cancelled by mistake, can't reach anyone to fix it. Help!
I'm so frustrated with the unemployment office. I filed a claim last month and it got cancelled by mistake. I called to get it fixed and they put me through to the wrong department. Now I've been trying to get through to the right people for days but can't reach anyone. They close at 5pm and I'm worried I'll miss my chance to get this sorted out. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any tips on how to actually talk to a human there?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The unemployment system is a total mess right now. I've been trying to get through for weeks. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits 🙄

•Tried that, no luck. Even set an alarm for 7:55am to be ready. Still couldn't get past the automated system 😫

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. How does it actually work? Is it legit?

•Idk man, paying to get through seems sketchy. Shouldn't this be a free service?

•I get the skepticism, but it's legit. They basically have a system that calls and navigates the menu for you, then calls you when a human picks up. Saved me hours of frustration

•Can confirm, I used it too. Worth every penny to not sit on hold all day

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this for months: 1. Call exactly at opening time. Like, be dialing at 7:59:59. 2. If you get a real person, don't hang up no matter what. Even if they say it's the wrong dept, ask them to transfer you. 3. Be super nice to the person who answers. They deal with angry people all day. 4. Have all your info ready - claim number, dates, etc. 5. If all else fails, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes intervene. Hope this helps someone. Stay strong, we're all in this together! 💪

•Great advice! I'd add: keep a log of all your calls (date, time, who you spoke to) in case you need to prove you've been trying

I'm telling you, the whole system is rigged. They make it impossible on purpose so people just give up. Wake up sheeple! 🐑🐑🐑

•Oh great, here come the conspiracy theories 🙄 Sometimes systems just suck without it being a grand plan

Pro tip: if you're having trouble getting through on the phone, try reaching out on Twitter. Sometimes their social media team can help or at least escalate your issue.

Anyone else notice that the hold music is like, the most depressing thing ever? Like, we're already stressed about money and then they hit us with that sad saxophone 🎷😢
