EDD Phone Queue Always Full - Can't Reach Agent After 3 Weeks of Trying
Has anyone else been unable to get through to an agent at the unemployment office? I've been trying for a whole week, calling at different times of day, but I keep getting told the queue is full. It's been over 3 weeks since I filed my claim and I really need to speak with someone. This is so frustrating! Any advice on how to actually reach a human being?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I've been in the same boat for the past month. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to talk to anyone. I've tried calling right when they open, during lunch, and even 5 minutes before they close. No luck whatsoever. 😤

•Same here! Its ridiculous how understaffed they are. You'd think with all the unemployment claims they'd hire more people to answer the phones 🙄

•I heard they actually did hire more people, but the system is just so overwhelmed that it doesn't make a difference. Crazy times we're living in...

•Yeah, it's a total mess. I wonder if there's any way to complain about this to someone who can actually do something about it?

I finally found a way to get through! There's this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that calls for you, waits on hold, and then connects you when an agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video explaining how it works: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I'm skeptical. How do we know this isn't just some scam to get our info?

•I get the skepticism, but I promise it's legit. I was desperate and decided to give it a shot. It really did work for me. The $20 was worth it to finally get my issue resolved.

Pro tip: Try calling your local state representative's office. They often have direct lines to EDD and can help escalate your case. It worked for me after weeks of frustration.

•This is great advice! I never would have thought of that. Do you just google your local rep and call their office?

•Yep, exactly! Just search for '[your area] state representative' and you should find their contact info. They're usually pretty helpful with stuff like this.

I've given up on calling tbh. I've been emailing them every day instead. It's slow, but at least I'm leaving a paper trail. Maybe if enough of us flood their inbox, they'll be forced to respond eventually. 🤷♂️

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this for months: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it seems hopeless. 2. Try different times of day. I've had the most luck calling right at 8:01 AM or just before lunch. 3. Use the phone menu trick: press 1 for English, then quickly press 2, 4 when prompted. Sometimes this gets you to a different queue. 4. If you get through but they can't help, ask to be transferred instead of hanging up and calling again. 5. Check your online account regularly. Sometimes issues resolve without needing to call. 6. If all else fails, contact your local representative or try a service like Claimyr. Hope this helps someone! Stay strong, we're all in this together. 💪

Am I the only one who thinks its absolutely insane that we have to jump through all these hoops just to get basic help? The system is broken af 😤

•Preach! 🙌 It's like they're trying to discourage people from claiming benefits they're entitled to.

•Totally agree. We need to start making some noise about this. Maybe we should organize and contact our representatives en masse?

•Ain't that the truth! 😂 They sure know how to get your money, but good luck getting what you're owed.
