NYDOL closed? Can't get through about monetary determination issue. Help!

I've been waiting forever to get through to unemployment. I filed my claim and got a monetary determination letter, but there's still an issue with it. I've been trying to call for days and can't get through. Today I finally got a notification that the DOL was closed. This is so frustrating! Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to actually talk to a human?

Welcome to the club, buddy. We're all in the same boat here. šŸš£ā€ā™‚ļø The NYDOL phone system is a total nightmare. I've been trying for weeks to get through. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to talk to anyone.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Sounds sketchy. How does it work exactly? Is it legit?

It's totally legit! You just put in your phone number, pay the fee, and they start calling for you. When they get a human, your phone rings. Saved me days of frustration.

$20 to talk to unemployment? That's highway robbery! 🤬

I get it, but for me it was worth it. Time is money, and I was wasting days trying to get through. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Have you tried calling right when they open? I've had luck getting through if I start dialing at 7:59 AM and keep redialing until I get in the queue.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been dealing with a similar issue for months now. Here's what I've learned: • Keep detailed records of all your calls and attempts to contact them • Check your online account regularly for updates • Try reaching out through social media (sometimes they respond there) • Contact your local state representative's office - they can sometimes help • Be persistent and don't give up! It's a frustrating process, but hang in there. Eventually, you'll get through to someone who can help.

Thanks for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try contacting my rep. Didn't even think of that.

This is solid advice. I got my issue resolved after my state rep's office intervened. Don't sleep on this option!

Pro tip: if you get the "DOL is closed" message, it usually means their queue is full. Keep trying throughout the day, sometimes they reopen the lines if enough people get through.

This! I got through at like 2pm once when I thought they'd be closed. Never give up, never surrender! šŸš€

Anyone else think its crazy that we gotta jump through all these hoops just to get what we're entitled to? The system is a joke tbh

Preach! šŸ™Œ It's like they're trying to discourage us from claiming our benefits.

Its almost like the system was designed to be frustrating on purpose... šŸ¤”

Hey OP, what exactly is the issue with your monetary determination letter? I had a problem with mine and might be able to offer some specific advice.
