EDD PFL payment delay: Called last week, still no payment. Advice for follow-up call?

I'm so frustrated. I called last week about my payment and they told me to follow up, but I still haven't received anything. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do when I call them again? I don't want to waste time on hold just to get nowhere. Any advice would be appreciated!

I found a way to solve delayed unemployment payment issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWNs-mWDyAM

I'm in the same boat. Called last week, they said it would be processed in 3-5 business days. Here we are, a week later, and still nothing. The whole system needs an overhaul.

Pro tip: keep a log of every interaction. Date, time, who you spoke to, what they said. It'll help if you need to escalate later.

Smart idea. I'll start doing that. Thanks!

I second this. Having a record makes a huge difference when trying to get help.

PSA: If you're having trouble, reach out to your state representative or senator's office. They often have liaisons who can help with unemployment issues. It's literally their job to help constituents!

GalaxyGazer

Wow, I had no idea. How do I find out who my rep is?

Liam Fitzgerald

Just google "[your state] find my representative". Most states have a website where you can enter your address.

This is a super helpful tip. Elected officials can often expedite issues like this.

Plot twist: what if we all show up at their office at once? They can't ignore us all! 😂

have you tried calling at different times? I had luck getting through early in the morning, like right when they open.

0 coins

-

GalaxyGazer

I usually try mid-day. What time do they open?

I think 8am. Set your alarm and be ready to dial! ⏰

I agree with calling early. Late afternoons seem to be the worst times to call.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been waiting on a payment for THREE MONTHS now. The whole system is broken af 😤

Three months?! That's insane. Have you tried contacting your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things through.

No, I haven't. Didn't even know that was an option. I'll look into it, thanks!

Three months is just ridiculous. Maybe you could consider reaching out to a news outlet? They sometimes highlight these issues.

Hey OP, hang in there. We're all in this together. It sucks now, but keep pushing. You'll get your money eventually. Sending good vibes your way! 🙏✨

Protip: If you can, set up direct deposit instead of waiting for a check. It's usually faster.

Unpopular opinion: maybe try going in person if possible? I know it's a hassle, but sometimes face-to-face gets better results.

Is that even an option anymore? I thought everything was phone/online now

Serious question: has anyone tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes companies respond faster when it's public.

I tweeted at them once. Got a generic "please call our helpline" response. Useless.

might be worth a shot tho. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, right?

I found a way to get someone on the phone without waiting forever. There's this site called claimyr.com that has a calling tool. It dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

StarStrider

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken we have to pay to get help now? 🤦‍♂️

I get the skepticism, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth it IMO.

I've used Claimyr and it worked for me too. But I think it should be a last resort because paying for access shouldn't be the norm.

Been there, done that. Here's what you need to do: 1. Get all your docs ready before calling. Claim details, previous emails, everything. 2. Write down your claim number and any reference numbers. 3. When you get through, tell them right away that you called last week and were told to follow up. 4. Ask specifically why the payment hasn't been processed yet. 5. Get a timeframe for when you can expect the payment. 6. Take notes during the call! 7. If they give you more steps, follow up on those ASAP. Good luck! The system is a mess, but stay persistent.

This is solid advice. I'd add: ask for a supervisor if you're not getting anywhere with the first person you talk to.

Don't forget to ask for a confirmation number or reference for the call. It helps if you need to follow up again!

Also, try to maintain a calm tone, even if you're frustrated. It can go a long way in getting the help you need.

Friendly reminder to everyone: don't forget to certify for benefits every week, even if you're waiting on a payment issue to be resolved. You don't want to miss out on weeks you're eligible for!

Hey everyone, I wanted to share some additional insights on Claimyr, a tool that's been mentioned here. While Claimyr's calling tool can indeed save time for some users, particularly those who find themselves endlessly stuck on hold, it's essential to evaluate the cost-benefit ratio for your circumstances. Paying $20 per call might not be feasible for everyone, especially if you're facing financial constraints. It's also worth noting that there are mixed reviews; while some have had success, others might not experience the same efficiency. Always ensure you have exhausted other free alternatives, such as reaching out during off-peak hours or using email communication, before opting for a paid service. Lastly, it's always a good practice to verify any third-party service thoroughly before use. Stay informed and make decisions that best suit your needs.
