Late EDD payments AGAIN - What can I do?

Hey everyone, I'm having issues with my payments. They're late again and I'm getting frustrated. Has anyone else experienced this? Last time it was on time, but now it's back to being delayed. Any advice on how to handle this or what I should do when I finally get through to someone?

Ugh, I feel you. It's like they can't get their act together. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

Yeah, I've been trying to call but it's impossible to get through. The wait times are insane!

Pro tip: call right when they open. Sometimes you can catch them before the lines get crazy.

Or try calling at like 4:55 PM. Sometimes they stay a few minutes after closing to finish up calls.

I've been dealing with this for months now. It's so frustrating! Here's what I've learned: • Document everything. Keep a log of when payments are supposed to arrive and when they actually do. • When you finally get through to someone, ask about processing times. Sometimes there are system-wide delays they don't advertise. • Be polite but firm. Ask if there's anything that can be done to ensure timely payments in the future. • If you're really in a bind, reach out to your local representative. Sometimes they can light a fire under the department. • Consider setting up direct deposit if you haven't already. It's usually faster than paper checks. Hang in there, OP. I know it's tough, but keep pushing!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! I'll definitely start keeping better records. Do you think emailing is worth a shot too?

Emailing can be hit or miss, but it doesn't hurt to try. At least you'll have a paper trail. Just don't expect a quick response.

Maybe we should try unplugging the whole unemployment office for 30 seconds

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I was skeptical too, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

$20 seems steep just to talk to someone... but I guess if it works 🤷‍♂️

I get it, but for me, it was worth it. Time is money, and I was wasting so much time on hold.

Have you checked your claim status online? Sometimes there's info there that can explain delays.

Yeah, I've been checking obsessively. No updates there either 😞

I'm in the same boat. It's so stressful not knowing when the money will come through. Hang in there, OP!
