EDD payment delay over a week - holiday screwed everything up. Any advice?
I'm so frustrated with this payment delay. I was supposed to get paid on Monday, but it's been over a week and still nothing. I've called multiple times and keep getting different answers. They told me it was paid out, but I haven't seen a dime. The holiday messed things up, but come on! Anyone else dealing with this nonsense? Any advice on how to actually get my money?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The system is so broken rn. I've been waiting for my payment for 3 weeks now. Every time I call, they give me a different story. It's like they're playing hot potato with our money 🥔💸

•3 weeks?! That's insane. Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can light a fire under these bureaucrats.

•No, I haven't thought of that. Good idea! I'll give it a shot. Anything's worth a try at this point 🤷♂️

•I contacted my rep last month for a similar issue. Took about a week, but they actually got things moving! Def worth a shot

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo

•Idk man, paying to talk to a government agency feels wrong. Shouldn't this be free?

•I get where you're coming from, but time is money. I'd rather pay $20 than waste a whole day on hold 🤷♀️

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Write down every call, who you spoke to, and what they said. 2. Ask for a supervisor every time you call. Don't take no for an answer. 3. File a formal complaint through their website. 4. Contact your local representative and state senator. 5. If all else fails, reach out to local media. Sometimes public pressure can work wonders. Remember, persistence is key. Don't let them wear you down. You're entitled to your money, and it's their job to make sure you get it. Good luck!

•Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start documenting everything. Hadn't thought about reaching out to the media - that's a great last resort option.

The whole system is a joke. They expect us to live on air while they 'process' our payments. I'm about ready to go down there and camp out until they pay me 😤

•Lol, can you imagine? A tent city outside the unemployment office. Maybe then they'd get their act together 🏕️

Pro tip: call right when they open. I always get through within 15 minutes if I call at 8:01 AM sharp.

Have you tried checking your claim status online? Sometimes it updates there before they actually tell you anything on the phone.
