EDD Claim Accepted Over a Month Ago, Still No Payment - Help!
Hey everyone, I'm at my wits end here. It's been over a month since my claim was accepted, but I haven't seen a single payment. I've tried calling but can't get through. Anyone else dealing with this? Any advice on how to actually get some answers or, you know, my money?

Ugh, I feel you. I was in the same boat last year. It took me almost 3 months to get my first payment after my claim was accepted. The system is so broken its not even funny anymore.

•3 months?! That's insane. How did you manage to survive that long without any income?

•It was rough, not gonna lie. Had to borrow money from family and max out my credit cards. Still trying to recover financially tbh

•This is why we need serious reform in the unemployment system. People shouldn't have to go into debt just because the government can't get its act together 🤬

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things along. It's ridiculous that we have to go to these lengths, but it might be worth a shot.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know?

•Can confirm, I used it too. Got through in like an hour when I'd been trying for weeks on my own.

Pro tip: keep a detailed log of all your attempts to contact them. Dates, times, who you spoke to if you manage to get through. It can help if you need to escalate your case later.

Have you checked your EDD account online? Sometimes there are issues that need to be resolved before they can release payments. It might give you some clues about what's holding things up.

•Yeah, I've been checking it obsessively. No updates, no messages, nothing. It's like my claim is just sitting in limbo 😩

•Classic EDD move. They probably lost your paperwork in their 1980s computer system 🙄

Here's what worked for me after waiting for 2 months with no payment: 1. Call your local Assembly member's office. They often have dedicated staff for EDD issues. 2. File a complaint with the EDD through their website. 3. If you're really desperate, consider contacting local media. Sometimes public pressure can work wonders. 4. Keep certifying for benefits every two weeks, even if you're not getting paid. 5. Join Facebook groups for your state's unemployment issues. Sometimes you can get insider tips. 6. Check if there are any virtual EDD workshops in your area. They sometimes offer one-on-one help. Hang in there. It's a frustrating process, but keep pushing. You'll get your money eventually!

•The fact that we need a freaking strategy guide to get our legally owed benefits is just... I can't even 🤦♂️

Anybody else feel like we're all just screaming into the void here? Like, does EDD even care?

•Nah, they're too busy swimming in their pool of our tax dollars to care about us peasants 🙃

•C'mon guys, I'm sure they're doing their best with limited resources. The pandemic really overwhelmed the system.
