EDD PFL application stuck in limbo - How long does it take? Tips to contact someone?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my family paid leave application. I submitted it a while back and haven't heard a peep since. Anyone else in the same boat or know how long this process usually takes? I'm getting antsy and could really use an update. Any tips on how to get in touch with someone who can actually help?

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes EDD emails end up there. Also, make sure you're logging into the online portal regularly. They don't always send notifications when there's an update.

Great point! Many emails from official sites often end up in spam. And it's worth checking the portal at least once a day.

I heard a rumor that they're updating their system soon. Supposedly it'll make everything faster and more efficient. I'll believe it when I see it tho 🙄

Lmao, they've been saying that for years. Don't hold your breath.

Pro tip: if you can, apply for benefits before you actually need them. The process takes so long that by the time you get approved, you might already be back at work 🙃

Has anyone tried faxing their documents? I know it sounds like we're back in the 90s, but I've heard it can sometimes get faster results than submitting online.

Faxing? What's next, sending a carrier pigeon? 😂

Sometimes the old-school methods are surprisingly effective. Who would've thought?

Hey, I found a method that actually worked to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

Woah, tell me more about this. How long did you have to wait?

I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. I was desperate and decided to give it a shot. Waited about 2 hours, but didn't have to deal with the frustration of redialing constantly. Worth every penny for me.

Claimyr seems to have mixed reviews. Some people swear by it, while others feel the cost is a bit much. I think it's worth it if you're at the end of your rope.

I understand your frustration, OP. Navigating through the EDD system can be an absolute nightmare for many. If you're looking for solutions, the Claimyr tool mentioned is a legitimate service utilized by some to bypass lengthy waiting times. It's particularly useful for those who have exhausted all other options and are willing to pay for expedited access to a representative. However, it's important to weigh the cost against your current desperation level. Always remember to keep checking both your email's spam folder and the EDD online portal for updates. Additionally, trying alternative communication methods, like faxing, could yield results. Lastly, staying organized and documenting all attempts to contact EDD can be invaluable. Best of luck, and hopefully, you will see movement in your application soon.

Hey OP, hang in there! I know it's tough, but try to stay positive. I was in your shoes a few months ago and it eventually worked out. Sending good vibes your way! ❤️

Thanks for the positivity! We all could use a bit more of it dealing with EDD.

Welcome to EDD hell, my friend. I've been waiting for 3 months now with radio silence. It's like they're allergic to communication or something 🙄

It's crazy how we're in the digital age, yet communication is still such a hassle. I wonder if they ever look at all these complaints?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same situation last year. It took them 6 weeks to even acknowledge my application, and another month after that to start processing it. The system is so broken 😤

6 weeks?! You got lucky. I'm going on 3 months now and still nothing.

Yikes, that's rough. Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can light a fire under EDD's butt.

Reaching out to a local representative helped me too. They seem to have a bit more pull than us mere mortals.

Anyone else notice how the EDD website always seems to be "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄 It's like they're trying to gaslight us or something.

Anyone else feel like they need a degree in bureaucracy just to navigate this system? It's ridiculous how complicated they make everything!

I completely agree! It's like they intentionally make it difficult so people give up.

Have you tried calling their customer service line? I know it's a pain, but sometimes you gotta be persistent to get anywhere with these bureaucrats.

Yeah, I've tried calling but it's always busy or I get disconnected. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can snag a spot in the queue that way.

I also had luck calling during lunchtime when the wait times seemed a bit shorter.

Friendly reminder to everyone: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every email. You never know when you might need to prove you've been trying to resolve an issue.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call the main EDD number 2. Press 1 for English (or 2 for Spanish) 3. Then press 1 for "Claim Questions" 4. Next, press 2 for "All Other Questions" 5. Finally, press 0 to speak with a representative You might have to try this a few times, but it eventually got me through to a human. Be prepared to wait on hold for a while though.

I tried this too and it worked for me eventually. The hold times were long, but worth it to speak to a real person.
