EDD: Need claim denial letter after maxing out benefits, but claim disappeared. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I maxed out my state unemployment benefits and now I need a claim denial letter for work. The problem is, my claim was pending for a while and now it's just gone. Anyone else dealt with this? How do I get that letter?

Ugh, been there done that. The EDD system is such a mess rn. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be persistent af to get through.

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins of hold time last week.

30 mins? You got lucky! I was on hold for 3 hours last time ðŸ˜

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

I was skeptical too, but I tried it and it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

I get it, but think about how much time you waste trying to get through. For me, it was worth it.

Here's what you need to do to get that denial letter: 1. Log into your UI Online account 2. Go to 'Contact Us' 3. Select 'Benefits' as the category 4. Choose 'Claim or Payment Questions' as the subcategory 5. In the message, request a formal denial letter for your maxed-out benefits 6. Be sure to include your full name, last 4 of SSN, and current mailing address If that doesn't work, you might need to send a written request to your local EDD office. Good luck!

Great advice! I'd add that sometimes it helps to mention it's for employment purposes. They seem to prioritize those requests.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes EDD emails end up there. Also, make sure your UI Online contact info is up to date.

Good idea, I'll double-check my spam. My contact info should be current, but I'll verify that too. Thanks!

Idk if this helps, but I was in a similar situation last year. I ended up going to my local EDD office in person. Had to wait for like 2 hours, but I got the letter I needed that same day. Might be worth a shot if online/phone methods don't pan out.

This! In-person is underrated. Sometimes you gotta put on pants and leave the house to get stuff done 😂

Didn't even know that was an option. Thanks for the tip!
