EDD unemployment claim approved but no payments received - What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my unemployment claim. It got approved a few weeks ago, but I still haven't received any payments. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm getting worried because bills are piling up. Any advice on what to do or who to contact?

Anyone else feel like we're all just clowns in the EDD circus? π€‘ Step right up for your chance to wait endlessly on hold!

The lack of clarity and communication really adds to the circus vibe.

Ugh, classic EDD. They're always dropping the ball. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare, but sometimes it's the only way to get answers.

Yeah, I've been trying to call for days but can't get through. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 45 minutes on hold that way.

I've heard some people recommend using a different phone number or a different phone service to call. Sometimes EDD's system prioritizes certain numbers.

I think itβs important to remember that while Claimyr can be effective, it might not be affordable for everyone. Consider all options before spending money. Itβs also good to check with community resources or legal aid services for additional support.

Great point! Sometimes community resources can provide guidance on other free methods to get in touch with EDD.

Hey OP, I found that contacting the EDD through their Ask EDD portal on their website sometimes gets responses quicker than calls.

I used the Ask EDD portal too! It took a while, but it was less stressful than being on hold for hours.

Yo, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is it legit?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous!

I know it sounds weird, but I swear it worked for me. Got through in like an hour.

How does it work exactly? Do they give you a specific time to be ready?

Claimyr actually has some testimonials that suggest it works for a lot of people. However, it might not be for everyone, so it's good to weigh the cost against your urgency.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of when you filed, when you were approved, and all attempts to contact EDD. 2. Check your EDD account online daily for any updates or new messages. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, try contacting your local state representative. They often have liaisons who can help with EDD issues. 4. Make sure you've completed all certifications. Sometimes payments are held up because of missing certifications. 5. Double-check that your payment method (direct deposit or EDD debit card) is set up correctly. Don't give up! It's a frustrating process, but persistence usually pays off.

The local rep thing is key. My cousin got her issue resolved in 2 days after months of nothing.

Also, make sure your address on file is correct. EDD sometimes sends important info through physical mail.

Have you guys heard about the new bill they're trying to pass to improve EDD? Might help in the future but doesn't do jack for us now π

It seems like they always have bills in motion but nothing ever gets implemented fast enough to make a difference.

Social media can be powerful, but it can also be hit or miss depending on how backed up their team is.

I actually had a friend who resolved their issue that way. EDD seems to respond to faxes when they get overwhelmed with calls.
