EDD Payment Delayed for Weeks - What Can I Do?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. It's been a few weeks and I still haven't received my unemployment payment. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do next? I'm getting worried because bills are piling up and I really need this money. Any advice would be appreciated!

I found a way to solve delayed unemployment payments, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcQ5uEOGW7Q

Ugh, I feel ya. I've been waiting for my payment for over a month now. It's so frustrating! Have you tried calling EDD? That's usually the first step, but good luck getting through 🙄

Calling EDD is like trying to win the lottery these days. I spent hours on hold and never got through. There has to be a better way!

I heard if you call right when they open, you have a better chance of getting through. Worth a shot maybe?

Thanks for the tips guys. Yeah, I've tried calling at different times but no luck. It's like they don't want us to reach them or something 🤔

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😤

I know it sounds crazy, but I was desperate. It actually worked for me and saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know?

I'm intrigued. How long did you have to wait after using this service?

It took about 2 hours for them to get through, but I didn't have to do anything. They just called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than being stuck to my phone all day!

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes there are messages or requests for additional information that can hold up your payment. Make sure everything is up to date!

I'm in the same boat, friend. It's been 3 weeks for me. I've heard that sometimes payments get delayed if there's a holiday or if they're doing system maintenance. Might be worth checking if either of those apply?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into that. It's just so stressful not knowing what's going on or when the money will come through.

OK, let me break this down for you. There could be several reasons why your payment is delayed: 1. Identity verification issues: EDD has been cracking down on fraud, so they might be verifying your identity. 2. Eligibility questions: If there's any doubt about your eligibility, they might put a hold on your payments. 3. Certification problems: Make sure you're certifying correctly every two weeks. 4. System glitches: Unfortunately, these happen more often than they should. 5. High volume of claims: With the pandemic, they're dealing with an unprecedented number of claims. Here's what you can do: - Double-check your UI Online account for any messages or requests. - Make sure all your information is up to date. - Try contacting them through email or social media (sometimes they respond faster there). - If you can, try to speak with a rep (use that calling service someone mentioned if you're desperate). - Reach out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help push things through. Hang in there! It's a frustrating process, but keep at it. You'll get your money eventually.

I never thought about contacting my assembly member. Has anyone tried that? Does it actually work?

Yep, it can work! I've heard success stories. They have direct lines to EDD that we don't. Worth a shot if you're really stuck.

Have you tried reaching out to them on Twitter? I've heard some people have had luck getting responses that way. Worth a shot!

Ugh, I feel for you. I was in the same situation last month. What finally worked for me was sending a message through the UI Online portal. It took a few days, but they actually responded and fixed the issue. Might be worth trying if you haven't already.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a try. How detailed were you in your message?

I tried to be as specific as possible. Included my claim number, the weeks I was missing payments for, and asked if there was any additional info they needed from me. Good luck!
