EDD Payment Delayed - No Explanation Given. What to Do?

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my unemployment payment. It's been delayed and I'm not sure why. Has anyone else experienced this recently? I'm starting to get worried because bills are piling up. Any advice on how to handle this or who to contact?

Ugh, I feel you. I've been dealing with payment delays for weeks now. It's so frustrating! Have you tried calling the EDD? That's usually the first step, but good luck getting through 🙄

Calling EDD is like trying to win the lottery these days 😂 I spent hours on hold last week and still got nowhere

Yeah, I've tried calling but no luck so far. It's like they don't want us to reach them or something

Pro tip: try calling right when they open. I managed to get through after only 30 minutes on hold that way!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Can you give more details about how it works? Like, do you have to keep your phone line open or what?

Nah, that's the beauty of it. You just put in your number and they call you when they get a real person. You can go about your day while they wait on hold for you

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes there's info there about why payments are delayed. Could be identity verification or missing docs.

This whole system is so broken. I've been waiting on my payment for over a month now. How are we supposed to survive like this? 😡

Preach! 🙌 It's like they forget we have bills to pay and families to feed

I hear ya. Have you tried reaching out to your local assemblyperson? They can sometimes help speed things up

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for months: 1. Always certify on time, even if payments are delayed 2. Check your UI Online account daily for updates or messages 3. If you can't get through on the phone, try emailing them through the contact form on the website 4. Keep detailed records of all your attempts to contact them 5. If all else fails, contact your local state representative or assemblyperson Hang in there, OP. I know it's tough, but persistence is key with these bureaucrats.

Have you checked if there's been any recent changes to unemployment policies? Sometimes delays happen when they update the system or change requirements.

Good point. I heard they were implementing some new fraud prevention measures. Could be related to that
