EDD claim disappeared after maxing out benefits - need denial letter for work ASAP

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I maxed out my state unemployment benefit and now my claim status has disappeared from pending. I really need a claim denial letter for work. Has anyone been through this before? What should I do next?

Benjamin Johnson

Ugh, that sucks. I've been there before. Have you tried calling the unemployment office? They might be able to give you more info on why your claim status changed.

I've been trying to call for days but can't get through. It's so frustrating! 😤

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold that way.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

20 bucks tho? That's kinda steep when ur already broke from unemployment 💸

True, but for me it was worth it to finally get some answers. Your mileage may vary 🤷‍♂️

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they post important notices there that explain whats going on with your claim.

This happened to me last month. Turns out I needed to file a new claim because my benefit year had ended. Check if that applies to you!

Thanks for the tip! I'll look into that. How long did it take for your new claim to process?

It took about 3 weeks for mine, but I've heard it can vary. Hang in there!

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your online account for any messages or notices 2. If nothing there, try to call the unemployment office (use the tip about calling right when they open) 3. If you can't get through, consider using a paid service like the one mentioned above 4. While waiting, gather all your employment documents from the past 18 months 5. If it's been a year since your initial claim, you might need to file a new one 6. For the denial letter, explain your situation to the agent when you get through. They should be able to provide one or tell you how to get it 7. If all else fails, contact your local state representative's office. They can sometimes help push things through Remember, don't give up! The system is frustrating but persistence pays off. Good luck!

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're trying to discourage us from claiming benefits

Have you tried reaching out to them on social media? Sometimes they respond faster there.
