EDD UI claim: Can't request weekly payments, reached max weeks? Help needed

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my unemployment claim. I can't request weekly payments anymore and I'm worried about what's gonna happen to my original claim. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm not sure if it's because I've reached the maximum allowed weeks or what. Really need some advice on how to handle this and if I'll get any back pay or if my benefits might be extended. This whole process is so confusing!

I found a way to solve unemployment claim payment issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4sg5zG9W2o

Ive been dealing with this mess for over a year now. My advice? Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every online message. You never know when you'll need to prove something later on.

Absolutely agree, documentation can be a lifesaver if you need to dispute anything later on.

Anyone else notice how the EDD website always seems to be "down for maintenance" right when you need it most? 🙄 It's like they're trolling us at this point.

Pro tip: try accessing the site super early in the morning or late at night. Sometimes works better then.

Great tip! Also consider using different browsers in case one has compatibility issues with the site.

I've been there, buddy. It's a total nightmare trying to figure out whats going on with these claims. Have you tried calling the EDD? Sometimes they can give you more info about your specific situation.

It's true, calling can be helpful. It might take a while to get through, but at least you can speak to someone directly about your issue.

One tip I've found helpful is joining online forums or social media groups dedicated to unemployment tips. People share valuable insights that can sometimes help navigate the EDD maze.

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes there are messages or updates there that explain whats going on with your claim. Might be worth a look if you haven't already.

Yes, checking your account regularly can help clear up a lot of confusion. They sometimes post updates or messages that are easy to miss.

I'm in the same boat, OP. It's so frustrating not knowing what's going on. I've been trying to get through on the phone for weeks with no luck. This whole system is a joke.

Tell me about it. I feel like I'm just spinning my wheels here. Have you had any luck figuring out what to do next?

Nope, still stuck. Thinking about contacting my local rep to see if they can help. Heard that works for some people.

Reaching out to a local representative can sometimes expedite things. They've been known to help with state agencies in certain situations.

I've heard that Claimyr is legitimate and can be a real time-saver, but it's always good to weigh the cost against the convenience. Have you considered other methods of contacting EDD?

True, it's a decision everyone has to make based on their circumstances. Sometimes peace of mind is worth the cost.

Here's what I know about maximum weeks and extensions: 1. Regular UI claims typically last up to 26 weeks. 2. After that, you might be eligible for extensions like PEUC or Fed-Ed, depending on current programs. 3. If you've exhausted all extensions, you may need to file a new claim if you have wages in your base period. 4. Back pay is usually automatic if you've been eligible and certifying. 5. Extensions aren't guaranteed - they depend on federal and state programs in place. Best bet is to check your UI Online account for any messages about your claim status or next steps. If you can't find info there, you'll probably need to speak with an EDD rep directly. Good luck!

Wow, thanks for breaking it down like that. It's helpful to see it all laid out. I'll def check my UI Online account again.

This is great info! Do you know if theres a way to check how many weeks we've used up so far?

You can often find that information in your UI Online account under the claim details. It usually shows how many weeks you've been paid.

Ugh, the EDD system is such a mess. I swear they make it confusing on purpose 🤔 I hit my maximum weeks too and it took forever to figure out what to do next. Hang in there!

Agreed, it's like they don't want us to understand the process. Hopefully, they improve their system soon.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assemblymember or state senator? I've heard they can sometimes help push things along with EDD. Might be worth a shot if you're really stuck.

I've heard of people getting a bit of help this way, but it can depend on the responsiveness of the representative.

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Wait, seriously? That sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😡

I know it sounds crazy, but I was desperate. It actually worked for me and saved me hours of frustration. Worth it IMO.

I get that the $20 might seem steep, but sometimes saving time is worth the cost. Has anyone else tried similar services?

For those considering extensions, keep an eye on any announcements from both federal and state authorities, as they sometimes introduce new programs or extend existing ones during tough economic times.

That's a smart approach. Keeping informed can help you act quickly when new benefits become available.
