SDI payment delayed 30+ days, can't reach anyone. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having a problem with my disability payments. I filed my claim about a month ago and still haven't received any money. I've been trying to get through to SDI to find out when my next payment will be processed, but I keep getting redirected to EDD instead. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to actually reach SDI and get some answers about my delayed payments?

Ugh, I feel your pain! The whole system is a mess rn. I was in the same boat last month - radio silence for weeks. Have you tried calling first thing in the morning? Sometimes that works better.

•Thanks for the tip! I've tried calling at different times, but no luck so far. How long did it take for you to finally get through?

•It took me about 2 weeks of trying every day 😩 But when I finally got through, they were able to fix the issue pretty quick. Hang in there!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

•Can you give more details about how it works? Like, do you have to give them your personal info?

•Nah, you just put in your phone number and they call you when they get an agent. You handle all the personal stuff directly with SDI. It's just a fancy auto-dialer basically

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update info there before they actually send out payments. Might give you a clue about whats going on

Pro tip: If you're getting redirected to EDD, try asking them to transfer you directly to SDI. Sometimes they can do an internal transfer that bypasses the main line. Worked for me once!

•Oh wow, I didn't know that was possible. I'll definitely give that a shot. Thanks!

Listen up, because I've been through this rodeo before and I've got some tips that might help: 1. Document everything. Every call, every letter, every online update. You might need it later. 2. Be persistent but polite. The people answering phones are just doing their jobs. 3. Check your spam folder regularly. Sometimes important emails end up there. 4. If you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out via social media. Sometimes their social media team can escalate issues. 5. Consider contacting your local state representative's office. They often have liaisons who can help with state agency issues. 6. Double-check that all your paperwork was filled out correctly. One small error can cause major delays. 7. If you're really in a bind, some non-profits offer emergency assistance while you're waiting for benefits. Hope this helps! Remember, you're not alone in this struggle. The system sucks, but we're all in this together. 💪

•The social media tip is legit. I got a response on Twitter faster than I ever did on the phone.

Anyone else think its ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops just to get the benefits we're entitled to? The whole system needs an overhaul tbh

•Totally agree. We should start a petition or something. This is getting out of hand.
