EDD SDI Refund Issue - $59.99 Approved but Confused About Next Steps

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my EDD payment and could use some advice. I recently filed for SDI and got approved, but now I'm facing some payment problems. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do next?

Ugh, EDD payment issues are the worst! I've been there before. Can you be more specific about what kind of payment problem you're having? Is it a delay, wrong amount, or something else?

Thanks for asking! It's actually a refund issue. I got approved for $59.99 but now I'm not sure if I'm supposed to get that back or what's going on.

Ah, gotcha. That's a bit unusual. Have you tried calling EDD directly to ask about the refund? Sometimes they can clarify these things better than we can.

I've been trying to call but no luck getting through 😩 The wait times are insane!

EDD refunds can be tricky. I had a similar situation last year. It took about 2-3 weeks for my refund to process after approval. Have you checked your bank account to see if it's pending?

Pro tip: I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at EDD. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's what I know about EDD SDI refunds: • Refunds are typically issued if you overpaid or if there was an error in your claim • Processing time can vary, but usually takes 2-4 weeks • You should receive a notice in the mail explaining the refund • Refunds are usually sent via the same method as your original payment (check or direct deposit) • If you haven't received anything after a month, definitely follow up Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Wow, thanks for all the info! This is super helpful. I'll keep an eye out for that notice in the mail.

Have you tried checking your claim status online? Sometimes that can give you more info about payments and refunds.

I did check online, but it doesn't show anything about the refund. Just says my claim is approved.

Hmm, that's frustrating. Might be worth trying to contact them through social media. Sometimes their Twitter support is surprisingly responsive.
