SDI payment authorized but not deposited - How long does EDD usually take?
Has anyone else had their payment authorized but not deposited? I'm getting frustrated because it's been a few days and the money still hasn't hit my account. The website shows it as authorized, but my bank account is still empty. I really need this money to pay bills. Anyone know what's going on or how long this usually takes?

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your claim status online - make sure there are no pending issues. 2. Verify your bank info is correct in the system. 3. Call the EDD and ask about the delay. Be prepared to wait on hold for a while. 4. If they can't help, file an appeal or contact your local representative. 5. Document everything - dates, times, who you spoke to. Don't give up! It's frustrating, but persistence pays off. Good luck!

It's not uncommon for payments to show as authorized but not be deposited immediately. There can be various reasons for this, including processing times at both the issuing agency and the bank, or verification processes that need to be completed. Typically, financial institutions have their own processing timelines, which can add a few days to the deposit time. It's advisable to check with your bank to ensure there are no holds or issues on their end. Additionally, contacting the issuing agency can provide clarity and possibly expedite the process. If the delay extends beyond a typical timeframe, it's prudent to follow up regularly and consider leveraging tools like Claimyr, which can help reduce waiting time on the phone. However, remember to weigh the necessity of such paid services against their cost and potential benefit. Stay persistent, as these issues can be resolved with timely follow-ups and proper documentation.

Pro tip: start documenting EVERYTHING. Dates, times, screenshots. You might need it if you have to appeal or prove your case later.

I had this happen last month. Turns out there was an issue with my bank info. Double-check that all your banking details are correct in the system.

•Thanks, I'll take a look. But wouldn't they have notified me if there was a problem?

•You'd think so, but their communication isn't always great. Better to check yourself.

•I've tried, but I can never get through. It's always busy or I'm on hold forever.

•Yeah, it's a pain. I found a way tho. Used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Have you checked if there's a hold on your account? Sometimes they do that for verification purposes.

•How do I check for a hold? The website doesn't show anything obvious.

•It's not always clear. You might need to call and ask specifically about holds or pending verifications.

•I've dealt with holds before. It's annoying, but calling is usually the only way to find out.

This happened to me last year. Turns out my bank was the problem, not EDD. Might wanna give your bank a call too.

I've been through this exact situation before. In my experience, it usually takes 3-5 business days from when it shows "authorized" to when it actually hits your account. The delay can be due to processing times between EDD and your bank, or sometimes there are weekend/holiday delays. One thing that helped me was logging into my bank's online portal to check for any pending deposits - sometimes they show up there before they're actually available. Also, if you have direct deposit set up, double-check that your routing and account numbers are still correct in the EDD system. If it's been more than a week, definitely call both EDD and your bank. I know the wait times are brutal, but it's worth it to get answers. Hang in there - the money will come through!

•This is really helpful, thank you! I'll check my bank's online portal right now to see if there's a pending deposit. It's reassuring to know that 3-5 business days is normal - I was starting to panic that something went wrong. I appreciate you sharing your experience!

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! My payment has been showing as "authorized" for 4 days and I'm starting to worry. Reading through everyone's experiences here is actually really reassuring though - sounds like this is more common than I thought. I'm going to try calling my bank first to see if there's a pending deposit, and then tackle the EDD phone lines if needed. Thanks everyone for sharing your tips and experiences, it really helps to know we're not alone in dealing with this frustrating system!

•You're definitely not alone in this! I'm new here but have been lurking and reading everyone's experiences. It's both frustrating and comforting to see so many people going through the same thing. The waiting is the worst part, especially when you're counting on that money. From what I'm reading, it sounds like persistence really does pay off - whether it's calling the bank, EDD, or just waiting it out. Hope your deposit comes through soon!

I'm new to this community but unfortunately not new to EDD payment delays! I've been dealing with a similar situation where my SDI payment shows "authorized" but hasn't deposited yet - it's been 3 days now. Reading through everyone's experiences here is both frustrating and oddly comforting to know this is such a common issue. From what I've learned in my own research, it seems like the delay between "authorized" and actual deposit can vary wildly - sometimes it's the bank's processing time, sometimes it's EDD's system, and sometimes there are verification holds we don't even know about. I'm planning to call my bank first tomorrow to check for pending deposits, then brace myself for the EDD phone marathon if needed. Thanks to everyone who's shared their experiences and tips here - it's really helpful to have a roadmap of what to try. Hoping we all get our payments sorted out soon!

•Welcome to the community! It's unfortunate that so many of us have to deal with these EDD payment delays, but you're absolutely right that there's some comfort in knowing we're not alone in this struggle. Your plan sounds solid - checking with the bank first is definitely a smart move since they can sometimes see pending deposits before they actually post. And yeah, the EDD phone lines are brutal, but sometimes it's the only way to get real answers. Fingers crossed your payment comes through quickly! Keep us posted on how it goes.

I'm new to this community and dealing with the exact same frustrating situation! My SDI payment has been showing "authorized" for 6 days now with no deposit. I was starting to think I was the only one having this issue, but reading through all these comments has been incredibly helpful and reassuring that this is unfortunately pretty common. Based on what everyone's shared, I'm going to start with checking my bank's online portal for pending deposits, then verify all my banking info is correct in the EDD system. If those don't reveal anything, I'll prepare myself for the dreaded EDD phone call marathon. It's really tough when you're counting on this money for bills and basic necessities. Thank you to everyone who's shared their experiences and advice - it gives me hope that this will get resolved eventually. I'll definitely document everything like some of you suggested. Here's hoping we all get our payments sorted out soon!
