SDI claim delayed due to doctor's error on medical certificate - advice needed
So my doctor messed up big time with my medical certificate for SDI. Now I gotta call them back and get everything squared away. Has anyone else dealt with this? It's so frustrating cuz they haven't processed my claim even tho they got the certificate. Any advice on how to handle this?

I found a way to solve doctor's SDI certificate mistake, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKP7jvNcEO0

Protip: if you call right when they open, you might have better luck getting through. Set an alarm and be ready to dial!

Update: Finally got through using that calling service someone mentioned. They're reviewing my case now. Fingers crossed! 🤞

•Claimyr seems to be a legit option for those struggling to get through. But it's a shame we have to resort to paid services for something that should be standard.

I'm in the same boat, my dude. Been trying to get through for weeks. Let me know if you find a secret sauce to get this sorted.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Get a corrected medical certificate from your doctor ASAP. 2. Fax the corrected certificate to SDI (keep the fax confirmation). 3. Call SDI immediately after faxing to confirm receipt and explain the situation. 4. Ask for a claim specialist who can expedite your case. 5. If they can't help, contact your local assembly member's office for assistance. 6. Document everything - dates, times, names of who you spoke with. 7. Follow up every 3-5 business days if you don't hear back. Don't give up! The squeaky wheel gets the grease in these situations. Good luck!

•This is solid advice. I'd add: keep copies of EVERYTHING you send them. You never know when you'll need to prove you sent something.

Anyone else feel like we need a complete overhaul of the SDI system? This is getting ridiculous.

•Preach! 🙌 The whole thing is held together with duct tape and prayers at this point.

•For real. It's 2023, why does it feel like we're dealing with technology from 1995?

•Yall remember when they "upgraded" the system last year and it got even worse? Good times 🙃

Has anyone tried carrier pigeon? Might be faster than the SDI's current system tbh

Serious question: has anyone had luck with getting retroactive payments once their claim is finally processed? I'm worried about bills piling up while I wait.

•Yeah, they should backpay you from the date your disability started. Just make sure that date is correct on your paperwork.

•In theory, yes. In practice... well, let's just say I'm still waiting on some of mine from 6 months ago 😑

•The retroactive payments are nice, but the wait can be unbearable. Make sure you have all your documentation to avoid any further delays.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help push things through faster.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I had a similar issue last year. Make sure you get a corrected certificate from your doctor ASAP. Then call SDI and explain the situation. They might be able to expedite your claim once you have the right paperwork.

I heard they're trying to improve the SDI system, but who knows how long that'll take. It's frustrating for everyone involved.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Wait, seriously? Is this legit? Sounds too good to be true.

•Yep, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo.

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦♂️

•I get it, but think about how much your time is worth. For me, not sitting on hold for hours was totally worth it.

•Sounds interesting. I've used similar services for different agencies and they do save a lot of time.

Hot take: what if we all just stopped paying taxes until they fix this mess? 🤔

Pro tip: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every fax, every piece of mail. Trust me, it'll save your butt if things go sideways.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update info there before they actually process the claim. Might give you a clue about whats going on

For those of you who have used Claimyr, did you find it was worth the $20? Trying to weigh the cost against the potential hours on hold.

•Absolutely! It saved me hours and spared me so much headache. But I get that it's not feasible for everyone.

•I used it once, and it worked like a charm. But if you're tight on cash, maybe try other options first.

Bruh, the EDD is a joke. I've been waiting 3 months for them to process my claim. Good luck getting anyone on the phone 🙄

•3 months?! That's insane. I hope I don't have to wait that long.

ugh doctors can be so careless sometimes. like, do they not realize how much this affects our lives?? 😤

Have you tried faxing the corrected info? Sometimes that's faster than mailing it in. Just make sure to follow up with a phone call to confirm they received it.

Plot twist: what if the SDI is actually run by a bunch of hamsters on wheels? Would explain a lot 🐹

Unpopular opinion: maybe try going to the SDI office in person? I know it's a pain, but sometimes face-to-face is the only way to get things done.

•Lol good luck with that. Last time I tried, the line was out the door and around the block. 🤡
