Need help reaching EDD live rep for urgent benefit update - any tips?

Hey everyone, I need to speak with a live representative about an update to my benefits. Has anyone had any luck getting through to someone lately? I've been trying for days and keep getting stuck in the automated system. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to actually talk to a human being. Have you tried calling right when they open? I've heard that can sometimes work.

I tried that and still no luck. It's like playing the lottery at this point 🤡

Same here. I've even tried calling at random times throughout the day. No dice. This system is so broken.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a shot tomorrow morning and see if I have any luck.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda sketchy. How do we know it's legit?

I get the skepticism, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Just tried it and it actually worked! Got through to a rep in about 45 minutes. Thanks for the tip! đź’Ż

Have you tried reaching out through their online portal? Sometimes you can schedule a callback that way. It's not perfect, but it's better than being on hold forever.

I've had some success by calling my local assemblymember's office. They have direct lines to EDD and can sometimes help push things through. Might be worth a shot if you're really stuck.

This is actually great advice. I did this last year and it helped speed things up. Good looking out! đź‘€

Wow, I hadn't even thought of that. Do you just look up your local assemblymember online?

Yep! Just google your address + 'assemblymember' and you should find their contact info. Good luck!

Here's what I've learned after months of dealing with EDD: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it feels hopeless. 2. Try different times of day. Early morning and late afternoon seem to work best. 3. Use the online portal to send messages. Sometimes they respond faster that way. 4. If you get through, be super nice to the rep. They're dealing with a lot too. 5. Keep detailed records of all your calls and attempts to contact them. 6. Consider reaching out to your local government representatives for help. 7. Join Facebook groups or other online communities for support and tips. 8. If all else fails, consider using a paid service like the one mentioned above. Remember, you're not alone in this. The system is overwhelmed, but don't give up. You'll get through eventually!

Anyone else feel like we're living in a kafka novel? Like, we're just chasing our tails trying to get basic info about OUR OWN BENEFITS. It's maddening.

Lol for real. Sometimes I wonder if there even is a 'live representative' or if it's just a myth to keep us calling 🤣

Hey OP, what kind of update are you trying to get? Sometimes there are specific numbers for different issues that might be easier to get through on.

I need to update my mailing address and ask about a payment that seems to be missing. Do you know if there's a specific line for that?

For address changes, you might be able to do that online. For the missing payment, yeah, you'll probably need to talk to someone. Keep trying the main line, and good luck!
